G&L Club Part 7

NBD! Found a real nice LB-100 on Ebay. Got it last friday and let it set for a day because it was freezing Temps on the way from the east coast. I will post Pics later tonight. It's Honeyburst with a rosewood #6 quarter sawn neck. Swamp ash body. Weighs about 8.8lbs. The guy said it was set up when he ordered it but that was not the case. Fret buzz and terrible action. Very disappointed. The good news is that i was able to get it set up by myself after a couple of days in reading on this forum and checking elsewhere on line. Lot of good info about everything. I earlier purchased a L2000 from Greg at Rocket and tried to match his set up but could not achieve his settings. I got to much Fret buzz. Finally got it Today and it sounds Fantastic. Growl like nothing else! Its strung with XL's 45-100. Any other string choices by anyone to try later?

Have you been through the bass section of this official G&L manual for adjustment procedure ?

It's quite old, so ignore paragraph 9 for micro-tilt and instead test shims with various thickness in the neck pocket.

NBD!!

Thought I'd jump in and join the club.
Had a pretty bad GAS attack for a p bass, went to check out a fender am std, found a beautiful LB-100 next to it. Did the A-B for about an hour and went home with my first G&L. No comparison really, awesome fit and finish, quickly became one of my favorite players.
I'm hooked :)
may I have a number please?

If you haven't tried DR Sunbeams you should, fantastic strings.
Currently I'm strung up with DR Legend flats (or Highbeam flats IDK the box confused the crap out of me )
Not bad, definitely different for flats. Look like metal rods, and sound broken in out of the package. Really high tension though.
