Hi, G&L L-2500 owner :D (my bass will look different in about a month and I'll add some new pics then) :D

Got it from TB by member RandomEvent, now headed to me instead of a 150X, or MM SR4 single H.
One Q: is the climax pup further forward than the L2K bridge pup?

It's been modded in a way that seems like it ought to outperform either of those two, for me:
The G&L Climax is a '93 model in great condition. There are swirl marks on the body that can be seen in certain types of light, but no dings or scratches of any kind through the finish. The electronics are all original G&L, modified by the previous owner. The pickup tap works like the L-1000, with a 3 way switch for series/parallel/single coil. The series mode is done by the capacitor so it's "single coil with bass boost." The preamp works like an L-2000 off/on/treble boost arrangement. There is a paper with the bass that describes these electronics. You get a lot of great sounds out of this bass. Comes with OHSC; matches my El Toro...couldn't resist, and the price was right.

I'm in as well. I'm using thomastik flatwounds and looking for something that will get a deep growl with little treble and click. Any recommendations? thanks

Nice one BassDaddy5! Is that a natural binding around the body? What neck did you get?

I had a similar experience moving from my trusty Stingray 4 to a G&L. As much as I loved the SR, the tonal variety and tonal quality of the G&L won me over after just two of three days of playing with the tone & switch controls.

Again, beautiful bass . . .

Thanks FidgetStone
It is a natural binding. The pictures don't do it justice. It has the six bolt neck. I wish I've found G&L basses 10 years ago. I would have saved myself alot of money from buying other high priced basses. Espeacially the piece of crap Warwick thumb bass I had. Oh well, live and learn.
