Near as I can tell, they made first gen SB2 JJ's from 83-84, so, good guess.
I've been thinking about putting an Audere in mine...:eyebrow:

The current stable from left to right: early '81 ash L1000, mid '81 hog L1000, '83 L2K, 1st gen '84 SB-2. Not 100% sure on the year of the L2K and SB-2 just a guess based on serial numbers.

Wooohoooooo!!!!

It arrived. Tuned it up and put some Lo-Beams on it. So far so good...dig the variety of tones. It's taking awhile to figure out how to configure it all... the chart helps...now I need to find that sweet spot.

I'll post pics tomorrow. (it's the same one from VeloCraig's FS post)

Seems like I'm in!
Safely arrived from the US yesteday: Malcolms "old" Tribby L2000:

I just adore this one. I have a feeling my next bass also will be a G&L. I had really high expectations after having read so much good about them, but this was a lot better than I had hoped! :)

That makes me member #149?

Here's a pic of the blue beauty. Please excuse the fingerprints.

Never did care for blue basses, but I got a blueburst L-2000 USA three weeks ago and I have to say, it's a beautiful instrument. It's a '96 model and it's finish is almost as new. I barely dare to touch it. ;) I posted a picture from the previus owner in the G&L Picture thread, when it still was in the US.

So, nice bass you have there. :)

EDIT: My blueburst L-2000...

The chrome parts where a little tarnished when I got it, but I could clean them with a cloth.

Hello to all,

I am new to this site as well as a new bass player. I would like to join the club as I have just won the other day on the bay a Tribute L-2000. I have not received it yet but below is a pic from the auction. I think I got a good price on it. It cost me $222.50 shipped. I just hope there are no problems with it.
Thanks,
