Very nice is that an ebony board?
After developing GAS for a G&L 2000 after playing our guitarists Tribute, I continued to my research...After constantly going to Link Removed, Matt DeSilva's site for his store on the LES, I developed severe GAS for this Redburst L2000, with the unusual three switch parallel/single coil/series instead of the two-way. Matt says he gets these in from time to time, and they go fast. He says they make them for some dealer in Japan.
Well, the three way switch makes this like the most versatile bass I have ever played. It has the 1.5 inch neck, nicely rolled fingerboard, beautiful two-piece swamp ash body, on the light side rather than the heavy side....I would put the construction at the Fender Custom Shop level, without the added price. Matt really knows G&L's, and is a pleasure to deal with...
The color is less red and more wine-y in person...

So far I can say that in Single Coil mode, with just the rear pickup engaged, you can get that Jaco sort of sound like a Fender Jazz, with different EQ, a sound similar to a Sterling or 5 string Ray in SC mode. With both pickups engaged and SC, you get a very jazz like sound, although a little crispier and ballsier. The front pup in SC mode is boomier than a jazz with just the front pup, a little more like a P type sound.
However I own a bunch of jazzes (and P's), and they all sound a little different. I will have to try some blind testing later....
It's great to be able to get these sounds, in addition to the humbucker sounds.
