Since you asked, I realized I never took any pictures with the white pickguard. So, I laid the white one on top of the black one and put the knobs back on. Not exactly the same look of course, but you get the idea.

I miss my tribute L-2500 so much. It was an amber colored premium with a rosewood fretboard. The seriasl number is 03014805. If anyone on this forum has seen this bass please contact me. It was stolen from me in 2005 from my old house in Brookville,OH

I love the look of those BABP L-2000s. If they had started taking orders a month earlier, I might have one. I dropped my cash on a Johnson Scroll Bass, which should be here in the summer.

Got a Korean made L2500 five days ago, the build quality and finish seems very good, the only thing that looks a bit cheap are the tuners, doesn't mean they're bad, they just look cheap to me.
The bass was setup in the shop before delivery, so the action was already low as I like it. I ordered the amber finish, and was surprised that the fretboard was maple, it's still very good looking though.
The body is pretty confy, I tend to pluck near the neck and it doesn't get in the way of my right arm too much.
Now the neck is chunky, 2.5mm front to back on the first frets, it's been giving me cramps, but I believe my hand will adjust and get used to it. I can see how this could be a big turn off for some people used to thin necks.
Very impressed in the dead spot department, only a moderate one on the G string 7th fret, nothing else significant (I hate dead spots). However the stock strings are lightish nickels, would be interesting to see how it behaves with standard gauge LaBella HRS. The B string is very solid, doesn't wobble at all, maybe the thin strings help.
The bass is silent, the electronics compartment is paint shielded, and the cover is foiled.
All the different sound options are true, just be careful with the tone controls in series as it can be overpowering. There isn't a significant volume diference between active and passive modes which is handy.
Now the only thing that is shocking is that this thing weighs 5Kg (11Lb)!! Is this normal?

Yeah, it's normal if it's an ash body, my Trib. L2k weights around 4,7kgs, and my ash bodied Jazz weights around 5kg.
