G&L JB-2 string change

I am getting ready to change out the strings on my new JB-2 bass. G&L has some type of a locking bridge system I'm unfamiliar with. is there anything I should know related to changing the strings that differentiates from any other "normal" type of bass string change?

I tried locating a manual on-line, to no avail. It shows basic things to do with the saddles and such, but nothing related to the locking bridge. Any type of information would be greatly appreciated!

Exactly. There is a small set screw on the lower side of the bridge that "locks" in the saddles. Unless you need to change your string height or intonation you just need to either loosen your strings from the tuners and pull the strings through the bridge or cut them and pull them through. Easy peasy.

That makes sense. I did not receive any hex keys with the bass. I'm pretty sure the trussrod hex is a 4mm. Does the bridge also take a hex? I took a look at it and its so small, it's hard to tell. I'm really sorry for all the questions... not sure if you have the answers. I really appreciate your reply. At least I can get the strings on without any issues. However, I will have to make some adjustments once the new strings are on. Thanks again for your input.

Bridge saddle height and locking screws are Allen screws, intonation screws are Phillips. Congrats on your new bass!
