G&L L2000 for 150€...deal???

Hi Guys,

I don´t know much about G&L (even less than I know about basses in general!!) but I just saw this advertised within driving distance of my house for 150€.

Is this a good deal, or am I missing something??

The ad also has a lot of spelling mistakes, but nothing about the bass itself, not even the brand!!!

G&L was Leo Fender's company after he left Fender, so they're all pretty good.

If it's within driving distance, arrange to play it, bring your money to the meeting and play it. If you think it's worth it, by all means, buy it. This is the beauty of buying locally and not online.

Living in Denmark I have accepted the fact that bassists in the US pay around half of what I pay for gear.

But this!

This is the deal of the century. It's a no-brainer. Buy, buy, buy it.

Sell it to me for 500 USD and I could even make a healthy profit by selling it on. Not that I would, though.

This is the Tribute series, which is made offshore. They're built very, very well and AFAIK come with exactly the same electronics the US models come with. Tremendous range of sounds. 150 Euros is a steal. Go now, get in the car and start driving. Don't let this one get away! Grabbit like a rabbit!

€150 is $200. Even in the US, that is a great price. I don't really want a Tribute model, but at that price... I'd buy it.

If it's a black Tribute (it looks to be so from the pictures), then the body is more than likely Basswood. They are great basses, and at that price, I hope you're on your way to picking it up.

(I've tried a couple, can't say they're my ideal bass really, but they're a good bass and very versatile. At that price you stand to make a nice profit if you resell it.)

That's an excellent, excellent deal. Two years ago I paid 435€ + shipping from Austria for my Tribute L-2500 - the five-string sibling of what you're looking at - and considered myself lucky.

E: Yeah, the ones with black finish are basswood, but I've never seen anyone complain. Besides, the sexy black'n'maple look more than makes up for that!

Yeah...when I posted that the black L2KT is Basswood, I was just pointing out a fact about it.
Here's another fact: My black Tribute has been a favorite of mine for several years.

Don't let anyone tell you anything different about Basswood - if they can't get this bass to sound great, it's them, not the wood.
