G&L L2000 options help

So I am thinking about custom ordering a new L2000 from G&L.. I was hoping some G&L guys could help me out. So I have a Stingray and I love the neck profile of that bass. It has a 1 5/8" nut so I am guessing the closest neck profile to a stingray G&L offers is the #12 1 5/8 modern medium C neck.. Am I right with this assumption? I am also looking to get Ruby red finish I think that would look pretty sharp with wood binding. But I can't seem to find many examples of metallic type finishes out there with wood binding. Do ya all think wood binding would look good or out of place with a metallic ruby red finish? Here are my specs: Gimme your thoughts please ;>)

USA L2000
-Ruby red
-matching head stock
-K switching
-Rosewood board
-#12 neck
wood binding

I think you're right about that neck. That will be pretty close to what you have on your Ray - perhaps not quite as flat.

I'm not sure how the wood binding would work out unless you want a flat top. IMO, that would make the bass a little less comfortable to play.

IIRC, the wood binding is not true binding. it's just part of the bass that was taped off before the finish got sprayed and then the tape is removeds and finished clear, so it gives the appearance of binding. but you are correct in assuming the top would be flat if the OP were to go with the conventional white binding.

*edit*
to the OP, i've played the #12 neck before, and i seem to remember it had a bit more "meat" to it than a stingray. but it was still quite comfortable to me. as always, YMMV.

The #12 neck feels a lot like a precision neck, except that the radius is a bit flatter. I can't compare it to a stingray because my SR is a 5er. I have an SB-2 with a #12 neck and love it.

I have never seen that color with the binding, but I think it's a real sharp option. I have one on order with those spec, except in greenburst. It should come in real soon.
