G&L L2500 Pickguard ... Check it out.

Don't suppose you've got a template for this or know if it would fit an L-2500. I absolutely love this and want one for myself! Thanks in advance
Yes, I got a template. It’s in Adobe Illustrator. I don’t know if it will fit an L-2500, I fear it won’t. But if you can work on the a.i. template you can adjust it to your requirements. I’ll be happy to send you the template.

That'd be great mate. Do you just send over a message or something? (I'm new to this site haha)

I found a website https://quickguards.com/collections/all/g-l
that sells pickguard for G&L basses including the l2500 which is what I have. I’ve always wanted a pickguard for it and thought it would look good on my bass.

I contacted the guy and requested no holes drilled into it, because I don’t want to drill into my bass, so I’m going to try the carpet tape method as the OP recommended. I have a blue burst body with maple neck, and ended up ordering the black 3ply with it which I think will look awesome.

Do you know if these will fit the tribute series?

I've been looking for a couple L-2000 pickguards for several years. I've reached out to a bunch of potential companies which ultimately fell through. Thank you for posting this. I will definitely be getting a hold of them.

Not 100% sure but you can reach out to the owner of website via text (he lists his contact info on there). I just texted him and asked to see, so I will let you know. My guess is, it will be close enough that you should be able to use it
I'm not sure how to text him since I'm UK based, I've emailed but I know he said not to email questions

The owner, Mike, of Quick Guards, said this regarding the tribute/American series:

“As far as the M-2500 and L-2500 yes because there is no existing pickguard to line up with. Otherwise for all other G&L model. God awful. Their pickguards are a mess. Very inconsistent. For all those orders people have to send me tracing or original pickguard. For both US and Tribute. G&L does not make pickguards in house.”

I might be reading it wrong but that means he has no problems making pickguards for tribute l-2500s because there's no original?

Received my pickguard today after about 2 months.

I used carpet tape as recommended (in particular Xfasten brand). About 6 small pieces to hold it in place.

very happy with it and I think the 3 ply gloss black is the perfect match for it. I have a white neck bind on it and it goes really good with the white on the pickguard.

Definitely recommend quickguards.com and the guy was able to omit all the screw holes too.

Cost me about $55-60 with shipping.

Reviving this thread! I’m trying to find a template for a L2000 tribute. I’m a lefty so I figured a right handed one would be a good starting point for a local luthier to give it a shot.

Anyone have one successfully made? I saw the tracing someone had in this thread already. It was off so not sure if that was a scale issue on my end.

I just finished my homemade guard for my Tribute L2500, and wanted to thank everybody in this thread over the years for the inspiration!

I have some material in white pearl, going to do another one soon…
Nicely done and it looks great!

I posted here about 6 years ago :wideyed: right after I got my Tribute L-2500 and I still have it. I love the tones I get out of that beast! I can't believe It's been that long ago! I was thinking about a clear PG over the blue burst but decided against it. That burst is too pretty to cover. Under certain lighting, it practically glows.
