G&L Pricing

It's so great to see the Built-To-Order M2000 and M2500 back! I just put down (not in the dog sense) my M2500 after a bit of practice and it is *such* a sweet instrument. Mine's strung with TI jazz flats and it is so incredibly punchy and focussed in its sound.

[BTW, I've been fooling around with tightening and loosening the saddle lock screws on my various G&Ls. On some, the instrument sounds better unlocked; but the M2500 is very much improved when it's locked down. Curiouser and curiouser, Alice.]

does G&L offer a pickguard delete option on the JB5? I vaguely remember seeing this in the past, but can't find it on your list or their site.
They did, so probably still do. Rocket will give you real answer, but while you wait for it...

Yes, they do offer pickguard delete on the JB-5. The only trick is it would still come with a chrome control plate. So they lose the pickguard, but not the control plate. I'm assuming they will still do that on a BTO model, but I don't really trust my assumptions. It could be a Custom Shop only thing. Sometimes, it depends which day you ask them...

If you have some specs in mind, let me know and I can run them up the flagpole for a quote. Don't invest a ton of time in that, though, knowing they might come back with "Custom Shop only". Just give me the highlights.

If you do go Custom Shop, I'm pretty sure they'll actually lose the control plate, too, if you prefer.

BTW - I just received word that G&L is going to do a price increase on August 1. Everything will be going up $100.

If you're thinking about a Custom Shop or BTO build or even a CLF Research whatever, we can still sneak in orders at today's prices up until 7/31.

Shoot me a PM if you want to go for something!

Didn’t they just do a decrease?

They did indeed, I want to say something like 3-4 months ago?

I can only assume they're trying to get it dialed in just right. They realized that they overshot with the previous price increase, so then they backed off and apparently that correction also overshot the mark. :)

The "G" in G&L = Goldilocks? Hahaha.

I just received G&L's official announcement about the August 1 price increase, and I've pasted the text of it below.

One thing to note is that this increase does not apply to the Custom Shop. That said, they've been talking about doing a Custom Shop price increase for quite a while. I anticipate some movement on that before the end of this year or possibly in January.

G&L Price Increase August 1st

Hello Dealer friends,

While we do the best we can to keep Made in Fullerton G&L instruments affordable, particularly in these inflationary days, we have a modest price increase effective August 1st on Fullerton Deluxe, CLF Research and Build To Order models.

To make it easy to understand and convenient to implement, MAPs increase $100 on all Made in Fullerton models except for the newly released Rampage 24. That's between 5-6% to give you a better feel, and dealer margin percentages remain unchanged. The Build To Order line now includes the rear-mount control (RMC) versions of the L-2000 and L-2500 in the available models.

We sincerely appreciate your continued support and thank you for your understanding.
