G&L Sales?

Hello all, have any of you seen any of the G&L trove go up for sale? From the suggestion in another thread, I spoke with the folks at mighty mite and they said that they bought some quantity of parts and such and would be putting it up after NAMM. I've checked there off and on, but mostly I was just wanting to see if I missed the boat. Thanks!

I have not seen them pop up yet. Reverb has had a few dealers and a random Indonesian seller getting rid of some parts since G&L closed. I keep meaning to list a bunch of G&L ultralight tuners I have, but have not done it yet.

I am sitting on 3 5 string MFD pickups just in case one of my L2500s ever needs one (or maybe I will see about having a Serek made with them). Debating grabbing a few other random extra parts if I can find them reasonably priced.

The G&L Dumpster Diver Dude who posted on FB about his haul ducked my messages about CLF knobs. According to others he’s either slow to respond or ignoring people completely. It’s already sketchy enough that he took possession of that stuff the way he did but it double sucks he’s kinda a shady dude.

I'm looking for L2000 Tribute replacement knobs.

Jason Gano from MIRC first told he had bought all the G&L's inventory, and that instruments would be on available for purchase at the end of Janauary on Franklin Guitar Works - Refurbished Guitars, and the parts would be available from www.mightymite.com.

Then he told me he was sorry for the delay, it should be ready by mid February.

Sounds good. I talked to him as well, a couple of months ago. He had said then that the plan was late January, after NAMM. So a little slipping of the schedule is no biggie. Mostly I wanted to make sure they didn't put it up and it sold out while I wasn't looking haha. Thanks, all!

Fyi, I bought these for my L2500 Tribute because I wanted black knobs. They're perfect replacements.

He also doesn't really have anything good. It's all the later Taiwan-made hardware...and according to G&L's Custom Shop manager, most of this hardware was rejected for scratches or other manufacturing flaws.

He also won't list prices. It's all just "DM me your offer."

Finally, he really has no idea what he has. He seemingly hasn't done a shred of research to figure out what's what.

In summary:

1. Has a bunch of crap.
2. Won't describe it in detail.
3 Won't price it.

That dude is a hard pass for me.

As for Mighty Mite, their prices over all are way too high for what they have. I think that if we do see the G&L stuff pop up there, it will be overpriced – and again, the later Taiwanese hardware, which IMO, isn't worth paying anything for.

The "random Indonesian seller" has been doing that for years. He isn't some random Indonesian person. It's a person who either worked at Cort, or knows someone who did. He either pocketed the parts, was allowed to take them home due to flaws or what have you, or got them from someone for whom these things were the case.

I have bought from him before. The shipping prices make it rarely worth the buy, but in ONE case over the years, I thought the price with shipping was worthwhile (a couple of black finished Saddle Lock guitar bridges).

He posted some pictures of a box of tuners and such but they were nowhere near to depicting the haul he posted about, so he probably doesn’t have what you needed.

In any case I spoke to someone at FMIC, and he said that sometime in late February early March they would post items on mighty mite website, after NAMM they would have more time to sort through what they got. I hope that’s true and not a wank!

Greetings again, just resurrecting this one. Has anyone seen anything like what we were talking about earlier? I have kept an eye on Mightymite and Franklin Guitars, but I haven't seen any G&L stuff pop up for sale. I see the odd bits on reverb, but those are often priced a bit high for anything I was looking for. Thanks!

I would reach out to Mighty Mite directly. Seems they have inventory and might sell you something if you contact them for something specific (according to a post on Reddit).

Franklin has some of the last basses, I saw a black Jazz bass, but they are asking $1,800.00 plus shipping and Gov't jacking (taxes). WAY overpriced, considering there is no support for the instrument once you buy it (you are on your own if the neck happens to warp, or some other tragedy befalls the instrument. Not worth it in my opinion.

Carver Vintage has 1 LB-100 in blonde/maple that looks like it wants to come home with me, someone buy it please, I don't have room for another bass, but that one looks like it could be someone's (a) THE ONE.

By the way, I finally found a pickguard material that matches this tobacco burst. It's an orange pearl sold by pickguard heaven. I darkened it with Angelus shoe leather tint. What do you guys think?
