G&L SB-2T Bleg

Sorry to hear that :( I had to have my sb2 tribby posted to me (from the general distributor for Australia. I could have ordered locally but had no idea at the time!), and I was terrified because it didn't come with a case. So I feel lucky, and I'd hate that to happen to anyone.

G&L is jumping on making a replacement neck, though, and AJ is being cool enough to wait for that to happen. So kudos and mega-big thanks to AJ!

Some of you may receive your SB-2T's with bubble wrap around the headstock inside the case. After inspecting AJ's case, it's became clear that the headstock actually made contact with the case (probably due to being dropped on the headstock end of the box). I would've hoped that the molding around the body in the G&L case would've prevented that, but that stuff has some give to it and the tolerance isn't super tight to begin with... you just never know how bad a drop a box might take along the way. UPS is really good in my experience, we see very little shipping damage from them. But they did a not so hot job with this one. :bawl:

Upgrade to quarter-sawn neck would sure be nice. :D

I've had some interest lately in another run of G&L SB-2T basses, and IIRC there were some folks who missed out on the last run and wanted to know when I would do more. I'm thinking we'll start taking deposits September 1 through September 15.

I just checked with G&L, and I've got to come up with at least 6 orders to make a run of these happen. (Strange - I think it was just 3 last time I did SB-2T's, but it was 6 to get the L-1000's done... so I guess 6 is the new 3).

Anyway, if you're serious enough that you think you'd want to give me a deposit about 3 weeks from now, let me know! I'll keep a list of who's interested between now and September 1, and if we get over the 6 threshold then I'll start taking deposits. So for now, I'll just be doing quotes and gauging the interest level.

Let me know if you have some specs in mind, and I'll get you a quote!

Just FYI: the SB-2 has gone up to $1600 MSRP / $1200 Internet, and the SB-2T is the same price.

Ooops - I've been delinquent on this task! Time to start taking temperatures for G&L SB-2T interest. I need to order 6 of these to make the run happen, so I'll just start a lit here of folks who are seriously interested and ready to pull the trigger by, let's say, the end of this month on putting down a deposit for one.

I'll order one for store stock, so we just need to come up with 5 other folks. PM me for a quote, or just add your name to the list in this thread...
