Anyone had their gaffer tape melt in the car in the summertime? I know duct tape can do that and become a sticky mess... I'd like to leave a roll of gaff/gaffer tape in the car, but it's pricey, and I don't want to ruin it...

Gaffer tape in car?

Oh, yeah. That stuff'll get plenty gooey in the heat... and it gets really hot in a car in the sun.
Now that Permacel gaffer's is off the market the problem's even worse. Permacel was less prone to it, but alas, it's gone.

I've never had a big problem with it in my car, but I have seen spare rolls left in my company's vans get pretty messy after they've been in there all summer.
