Gallien Krueger 115MBE question

I am still waiting for the correct 115MBE to be shipped. My returned 200W was just delivered to GC yesterday by UPS.

I have noticed that GC has updated their website to alert consumers that there are two versions available (200w/4ohms and 400w/8ohms). Interestingly, there's only item number on the GC site, so I don't understand how GC will tell the difference on which item to ship.

I do have to say that both Brian and Jason at GK have been very helpful and Jason has been communicating pretty regularly with me via email. Jason also went so far as to contact a local authorized service facility to take a look at my MB210 to make sure that the impedance was properly set. Apparently, there have been some changes made since mine was produced (I believe in April) so they want to make sure that 'm ready to go, once the 400w 115 arrives.

Next steps are waiting for the new 115 and getting my MB210 back from the repair guy.

I'll let you guys know when it's completely resolved.

Success! Finally!
After numerous calls and emails to both GC (canceled orders, getting credits, canceled them again since they kept planning to ship the wrong item) & Jason @ GK - my 400W 115MBE actually arrived today!
I haven't fired it up yet - but I certainly opened the box as soon as I got home to confirm that it was the 400w version - and it was!!
I also picked up the MB210 from the service center (non-techie disclaimer) who confirmed that the wiring needed to be switched to the correct impedance.
I'll let you know how I make out when I fire the whole rig up.

Sigh...

I just ordered and received what I thought was going to be the 400w/8ohm version of the 115mbe from samash.com

They list it as the 400w/8ohm on their website and they sell it at the price point for that version which is $299.

I received the 200w/4ohm instead....

I call SamAsh and tell them they sent me the wrong cab. They ask for my order number and put me on hold. They come back and tell me that they shipped me the 400w/8ohm and that according to the Gallien Krueger website a 200w/4ohm version does not exist. I argue with them and insist that it DOES INDEED exist even though the GK site doesn't have it listed. They say I can send the cab back for an exchange or a refund but I have to pay for the return shipping if I want a refund. They say they will not unbox the replacement to be sure its the 400w/8ohm before shipping.

To make matters worse they don't even have the 115mbe in stock anymore. I don't know what to do now. If I opt for replacement (and have to wait for it to be back in stock) I'm fairly certain I'll just get another 200w/4ohm, if I go for the refund I have to pay for the return shipping.

Is there anything GK can do to resolve this ? The GK website does in fact have incomplete info on the 115MBE as it only lists the 400w/8ohm and Samash says this is the only source of info they can go by. Even though I insisted that the GK site was wrong and needed updating they trust the GK site more than they trust me.

Call Gk and ask them to interface with Sam Ash, is how i'd roll.

I just ordered one from Amazon.com, and after I ordered it, I read deep into the specifications listed on their site, and it said it was a 400W / 4 OHM version. The title and everything else said it was the 400W version, so I assume it is the 8 OHM, I called them and asked them to double check it and they sent a request to Gallien for clarification. I am really hoping I get the one I ordered, which is the 400W / 8 OHM version.

Amazon.com update....they appear to have shipped me the correct 8 ohm, 400 watt cabinet. I am happy about that! BUT....speakon input ONLY, and no speakon included? Is it supposed to have one with it? I can't even try it until I go buy one.....sadness. (All my cables are speakon to 1/4")
EDIT - And boy do I feel like an idjit....it came with a plug in the 1/4" in to protect it. Removed it, all is well. Thanks Brian at GK!

Did you get lost? :eyebrow:

just got mine from GC and it makes for a nice enhancement to my 115rbh. i was driving a 210rbh but with the 1001rb head it was farting out all the time. this not only fits my stack better (whats up with the design of the rbh series where the 210 and the 115 doesnt stack well) but sounds amazing. I did check to make sure i got the one that said 400w 8 ohms and i couldnt believe how lite it is. wekk done GK. price rocked too thanks to couple friends of mine at GC and a nice price set by GK.
