That's cool man, you really nailed that tone.
For me too, Guns N' Roses are why I still play bass.
Radically different than Duff, but it's still there with me.
A funny is that it also reminds me of David Ellefson's tone on
Rust in Peace and Countdown to extinction. He used an 800RB there
along with Hartke 4.5XL cabinets, and I know he attributes that tone
to the aluminum cones of the cabs, but I do hear that GK grind in there.
I guess the 15's are key to the Appetite tone too, cause they disperse and roll off
treble much nicer than 10's, it sounds less harsh you know, while there's still
a large amount of treble dialed in. Listen to Velvet Revolver, that's a lot brighter/more scooped
in the midrange even probably due to all the 4x10 cabinets he used there.
The chorus also sounds spot on IMO!
