Hey Thanks, I appreciate that. I've always leaned towards 15's even from way back; I was convinced or "talked into" going with 2x10's over a 1x15 and found that there was something missing but couldn't exactly put my finger on what it was at the time (I was coming from an Ampeg BA-115 combo) and now realize it's that more rounded, warmer tone that I'm not getting with the 2x10 cab (I A/B'd them before selling the combo), so I added a second one (2x10) and it is better, but in the end I'm now convinced that 15's are what's gonna do it -(for me anyway). Thanks again, and I will keep an open mind/ear out for other options or suggestions.

Well, my point was that even within the most common Avatar B210 versions (original non-Avatar Deltas, Avatar Deltas, and the Avatar Deltalites), there is a pretty wide range of tonal variation, but if you have your heart set on 15s don't let me be the one to stop you. FWIW, my personal rig consists of a 115.

Anyone know anything about these cabs? I noticed there's 2 versions; One with 4 port holes ala the SVT 115HE, and one with the TL606 design (shown above). I've also read they're loaded with EV EVM15 200w speakers.

Well I'm back in the GK Neo 212s. I forgot how great these cabs are. I've been driving 1 or 2 of them with a Mesa M9 and I can't stop smiling at how well they sound. My back is also smiling.

Anybody ever use your MB series amp without a cab, essential as a preamp/direct box to feed the PA? I have a week of low volume gigs coming up at the end of March. The stage is small but there's a new Bose system in the house. I have a powered EV 1x12 cab I use as a vocal monitor. I'm thinking I could send the XLR out of the amp to the FOH. Meanwhile I'd go from the line out into one of the inputs in my EV. The other input in the powered monitor would get the vocals. I know GK says it's safe to run it without a speaker. But I'm a geezer who was raised on "don't run an amp without a speaker."

Ditto here. I bought it primarily for that use, as well as a tiny backup or "DI" of sorts to use at ampless gigs. Never had to use it that way, since my GKs have never broken down, but no problems at all running it without a load as a great headphone amp!

Welp, I decided to hell with it and bought that GK cab. It was only $100 and I thought it would be cool to have a matching GK cabinet.

Posting my GK amp comparison as promised. Enjoying the MB Fussion 800 that I received last week and A/B comparing it with my 1001RB and the Neo 112 and 412 cabinets. My second Neo 112 is backordered for a few weeks .

I definitely prefer this MB Fussion 800 to the MB 500 that I returned. It is much stronger sounding and I like the tube sound with the B channel set with more overdrive. Compared to the 1001RB, I give the 1001RB a slight edge on clean punch into the 412 but they are close and both sound great. The MB Fussion 800 has the advantage of the footswitchable channels with separate input gains and output volumes. I really like the overdriven tube sound with the Fender Precision bass.

Just purchased a GK MB500 head and GK Neo 212 cab, after much research on these forums.
It was a tough decision between the 410 and the 212, in a number of ways. But seems like more people like the 212 cabs. I was initially looking at the 210 cabs, as I'm only gigging in small pubs, but like to be covered if I need to play a bigger venue. And the 212 is lighter and less bulky than the 410 for lugging around in general.
Have to thank all the posters who have inputted their thoughts on GK heads and amps.

That used to be my main rig for quite some time. Good cab, overall. I still have the MB500.

I have my MB200 mounted to my pedalboard and use it pre-EQ as a DI into my church's system. I have been doing this for at least 3 years, 2-3 hours a week without any issues.

Yes, it's a model 115B produced in the late 80's. They were loaded with EVM15B drivers and rated at 200 watts and 8 ohms. I have an original manual around here. It has a color photo of Jeff Berlin with a bad mullet endorsing these cabs. I think I can find it if you want it.

Sure, wouldn't hate to see it.

And awesome. Already have an EVM-loaded cab. Awesome to have another TL606-style EVM cab to pair with it. Matching GK cab no less.

Look at the colors, hot pink and blue, could only be the 80's. I bet it sounds great being EVM loaded.
