AliExpress also has cheap Chinese clones from Flyoung Might be the same price, though. I have ordered a Stingray clone from "Quality Musical Instrument Store". Generally Alibaba is for bulk purchase, where AliExpress is the equivalent of eBay (but WAAAAY cheaper).

I'm not expecting much in the way of setup, so, if it plays well out of the box, I'll be very happy.

'Yes. Would I buy a bass based on this video? Heck no. The only way I would by this model bass ( I'll venture. guess you aren't getting the one in the video) , is if it came with a double your money back no questions asked guarantee,

Even simply adding an XLR to the output of your bass (and that's any bass, not just the one you are referring to here) won't match up the output impedance to the input impedance of the mixing console.

Use a DI. Even a $40 Livewire DI will work fine.
