Gator Transit / GPX

Are these essentially the same case? I'm looking for a new gig bag for my Jazz bass and these caught my eye. Anyone out there that owns either?

The Transit is a solid mid-range bag. The protection is very good, almost on the same level as the Mono bags. The storage is decent, if simple, with a large zippered storage pocket and two smaller ones. It's well made, out of good materials. You could do a lot worse.

I have both the Gator ProGo and Transit for electric guitars. I think that the transit was about $100.00 US, the ProGo was about $170. If you can swing the extra $$$ the ProGo is the way to go. If money is tight the Transit is pretty good for the price.

I'm able to get a brand new Transit bag for $80 in a sale right now so am leaning towards that.

Can't imagine the shipping would be much, but I bought a ProGo last week, from a little place about 45 min from me, outside of Pittsburgh. They're called Northern Sound & Light. My new gigbag, with tax included (no shipping, of course), cost me $115 and some change.

Update to this: Opted for a TGI Extreme Gig Bag. Very happy with it - no fuss, straight to the point and offers good protection. Fits my Jazz bass very nicely.
