GB Shuttle paired with avatar cabs

Hello Lowenders, I want to get a shuttle 3.0 or 6.0 but have noticed how expensive the matching 110 & 112 cabs are, for the price of 1 GB cab I can get 2 avatars, am I right or are these GB cabs better suited for the shuttle and sound better than the avatars? Anyone can comment on these little cabs.

Im interested in this as well. I have a 6.0 12t combo on order and have both an avatar 4x10 neo and 1x12 neo (both 8ohm) already so I should be able to test them when my combo finally gets here. Im just wondering if it's going to be a problem hooking up the 12t combo to the 1x12 avatar since the Avatar is only rated at 250 watts. The GB is rated at 600watts at 4 ohms.

I have no experience with the Avatar cabs. I know that TB'er kaiser_sosea has an Avatar 212 that he uses with his Genz Benz NeoPak head though ... you could pm him to ask his impression. If you're not familiar with that head, it's sort of the predecessor of the Shuttles, same preamp as the Shuttle 6.0 but 350 watts into 4 ohms.

Good luck!

Dont know if you'll get an unbiased opinion on this one. I tried the GB neox 112 with the shuttle 6.0 and I thought the cab was okay, but it didnt blow me away. I much prefer epifani, but then again it'll cost alot more for epifani. Carvin cabs are another low-cost alternative to avatar. Look into their PA cabs too. There is a large thread on here started by Greenboy detailing how good those cabs can be.

i have no experience with any Genz cabs unfortunately. However, I am very pleased with my Avatar B212 and the NeoPak which as Liam said is voiced (from my understanding) similarly to the Shuttle 6.0. The combination is loud with a sort of old school tone, but i tend to roll of the tweeter and the highs. So far it's done everything i've asked it to without a problem. I would have waited for the Shuttle but I needed 2 ohm operation as I am planning to add an Avatar B210. I'm sure there are better cabs out there but for a weekend warrior like myself they work very very well. Also you may want to check out the Carvin LS1503 as BASSIST mentioned, I'm very interested in picking a couple up as well because I loves me some 15's...

I am using the shuttle 6.0 with the Avatar B210 Neo 8 Ohm & it really sounds killer. I'm gonna get another. I stand it on end and made angle brackets with thumb screws that easily attach to the head and they have velcro on one edge that really grabs the carpet covering.
I had earlier added pop out casters to the Avatar and I'm outta there before the guitar player can pack up his picks!!:hyper:

I've only gotten to hear the Shuttle 6.0 into the B212 in my living room so far (nice!). I'll be hearing it at volume this Sunday. The first thing I recommend if you go with Avatar is to cut the 'carpet' out from under the woofers so the gaskets can seal to the wood. I did a horn for mid-driver switch though, so it's not sounding like it used to...

Looking forward to your review, as I played an Eden WT800B through the church's B212 last night using a Nordstrand-equipped Stingray5. Had plenty of "wow" tonal comments from non-bass players. Tweeter was set at 10 o'clock. Basic EQ on Eden. Set at "flat" on Stingray. Played parallel the whole night.

Bump to subscribe. I have the Avatar (4ohm) Neo410 cab and a shuttle 3.0 on order. Will report back if any are interested. Chris
I got the 3.0 head last week and it sound fine in the basement test with the Avatar neo410. I did get some distortion for awhile and thought the cab was farting out but it is brand new. I backed off the gain a bit and that cleaned it up.

I have a real gig this weekend, 2 guitars, keys, drums and FOH sound. Will let you know then.

I must say with all the 6.0 hype out there I'm wondering if I made the right choice.

We'll see.
