I'm divided on the subject myself. Probably depends on the manufacturer.

In the 90's I bought a 412 slant guitar cabinet with no logo on the grill. It was a Randall, and I suspect the previous owner was embarrassed that it wasn't a Marshall or Mesa, or even a 5150. It worked fine, and I paid about $75 for it. What a steal. Eventually (a few years ago) I found a Randall logo to put back on it.

On the other side of the coin, I have a used Behringer 115 bass cab... and I took the logo off. The aluminum cone speaker resembled a Hartke to me, so why not perpetuate the mystique. It sat under my Hartke 410 anynow, right? Well... now that 15" speaker is dead, and I put in an Ampeg 15" speaker. So I have kind of a hybrid. I want to put a little Ampeg badge in the corner of the grill, just to announce what is inside. I toyed with the idea of a chrome HYBRID car logo in the middle of the grill... but I might just go with the Ampeg plate.

On my G-K Backline head, I took some black tape and did the Midnight Special censoring by covering over the fancy wording "Backline". Doesn't make it look like a normal G-K head as much as it just hides the fact it's the budget model.

The GK MB combos look great with the GK logo removed...just an anonymous black speaker box. I did that with the GK, and would with Markbass too, as their styling is just generally too loud for my tastes. I currently play Genz Benz and don't mind the logo or feel the need to mess with it.

Instead of having "carrots" twice, maybe your poll should have had "sometimes". hehe

Only once, it was when I had an Avatar cab that I turned on it's side (a 2x10s). The logo was sideways and looked kinda janky like that, so I pulled it off.

Misplaced it, and years later when I was selling the cab at Guitar Center the dingus Sales Rep kept making a loud fuss about it. It had Avatar branding on the back of the cab and the web address was on there too. Even though Avatar is clearly listed online AND has listings on GC's used section, he must have told no less than 4 different people his "Oh yeah, the back of the cab's like 'Check us out on AvatarSpeakers.com'!". Thoroughly convinced the company didn't actually exist.

I wanted to ask his Manager if I could pay them $160 to drop it on the Sales Rep's head...although being neodymium, it woulda taken a couple of drops to finish the job. :meh:

Only reason I removed the badges from my PH212 cabs is because I was chasing rattle/vibration noises. The compressed foam backings seemed suspect and I haven't had any noises since.
Been meaning to find some thicker foam, but over 5 years later hasn't bothered me to put those heavy plates back on.

Only once. I had a pair of the Peavey 1810 cabinets that weighed about 120 pounds each. I’m 5’5” and used to lug them up and down the 13 steps to our house, which was on pilings, by myself. It was easier for me to carry them with the weight of the speakers facing my chest. After that old Peavey pointy logo got caught on my shirt several times as I tried to put the cabinets down, they had to go in the interest of (my) safety. I had plenty of old Peavey gear with the same logo…I never bothered removing them…or any other gear logos.
