  • I can't take seriously a poll where "I add them to my carrots" is posted twice, no, 3x

Over the years I've seen bands take "Marshall", etc., offa their cabs, or alter the logo - I'm sure you have, also

I once (it's on here somewhere) hadda Hartke 1x15" I altered the logo on to say, "Hack"

Anywhat, recently bought a TCE 2x8" cab to go with a DG M200 for a mini-rig

that bloody TCE logo, white on the black cab, is akin to neon, so I made the effort (need a star drive, BTW) to take the advertising sign offa the cab's grill, much happier with it

anyone else do similar?

I've actually added logos to a few cabs that didnt have them, your poll is invalid. ;)

I only buy gear from brands whose logos I like, because there are enough great amps and cabs out there not to buy ugly gear. :)
For example, I wouldn't buy a Markbass amp just because I don't care for their brand and the color of their drivers.
I could consider painting them, but I won't bother because there plenty of good looking alternatives.
I think there are too many available choices anyway, so removing the ugly helps reducing the choices, which in turn helps making a decision.

The only time I've ever "removed" a logo on a piece of gear...ever
As a kid, I spray painted the pickguard on my Epiphone bass just to get rid of the big circle "E" .
Ironically, while restoring that bass last year, I had to hunt like crazy to find a guy on Etsy to make me a gold foil replacement "E" logo to bring it back!
13 year old me vs 65 year old me. 👈🙄👉

IMO, the TC logo on the 208 boxes is especially offensive because the badge is too large relative to the size of the cab itself. It kinda dominates the look of the front of the cab, especially when used in a stacked pair. I modified my 208s to add parallel NL4s and took advantage of the occasion to '86' the oppressive badges. Now they're totally anonymous looking, which is fine by me. Had the logo been more modestly sized, I might have left them.

Has anyone seen a Tesla 'rebadged' as a Toyota or Audi yet? :roflmao:

I've removed a few I didn't like the look of. I also painted the grill of a gk neo 212 black and filled in the silver of the emblem to gold to match the gk gold line head I had it paired with. Nothing fancy. I usually don't care much, and a lot of companies make debadging pretty easy these days if one is inclined.
I had a Peavey alpha bass head that a previous owner disliked the look of so much they spray painted over the entire faceplate and you couldn't see anything. Complete blackout.

Never removed a logo but I did cover one up. This is what happens when you pay full price for a new replacement woofer, you're sent one with an obvious crease in the cone, and the company makes you pay shipping back to them in spite of their negligence. Brand shall remain anonymous. Wouldn't want to give them any attention. They don't deserve it.

I'm not interested in paying good money to provide free advertising for someone, and avoid products with a conspicuous logo, eschew car dealership logos on cars, etc.

When I play an instrument or play through a certain piece of gear, I consider that an implicit endorsement; if I won't give a product a full-throated endorsement, I reserve the right to remove or obscure any visible identifiers (e.g. Dr. Bass cabinets...).

I also reserve the right to remove, disguise, obliterate, or boldly change a manufacturer's "look" if it clashes with my taste.

Sometimes, I have decided not to buy something because of some visible trait that I didn't care for.

All else being equal, I hold makers in higher esteem when I consider their aesthetic and execution really cool.

I like good labeling, illuminated function indicators, and faceplate lighting that make it quick and easy to see and use amp controls, at a glance, on dark stages.
