Geddy is THE MAN. By all accounts a decent human being, funny bastard, and and almost supernaturally talented bassist. I have only seen them once in concert, back in 1980, blown away watching him sing lead, play lead bass, trigger footpedals, and play keyboards simultaneously. Almost made me quit bass for lack lack of comparable talent. His voice was always an acquired taste, and he struggles a little to hit those high notes these days, but his voice has mellowed and deepened to something I actually like better. The guy has worked hard for everything he owns, and I'll bet he actually plays a lot of his collection. I wish he'd drag out the 4001 for old times sake, but he seems like an all Jazz guy these days.

This is the 40 year anniversary tour. I can almost guarantee he will break out the 4080/12 and the 4001 for thier early songs. I wouldn't be surprised if he broke out the Steinberger as well, which gained notoriety from the MTV videos of the 90s

Know what would be awesome? If he could use the same basses he did during that era for each song! Like use the Wal for Windows/Fire/Presto/Bones stuff, Steinberger for the Grace stuff, Rick for the earlier stuff, and I guess he could use the Jazz too.

He should also change his hair to fit the era. Slicked back for Presto/Bones, beaufont for Windows/Fire, shaggy for the early stuff...might have to get some wigs, though!

Not sure about the hairdid's but, it would be awesome if he broke out the bass he originally played on the recording!

For a minute I mistook R40 for R30 and thought this was old...I have tickets to see them in July and this'll be my first time seeing them as a bass player. Gilmourisgod mentioned almost quitting bass after hearing him play but for me he's one of the few players that makes me want to practice more to play like him. Geddy's playing really motivates me!

I'd heard something along the way that they're planning on something special for the concert motif (as they always do) but it's under wraps for now. I think they were also asking fans to send them pictures or something like that. So maybe he will be rocking all those basses. All I can say is BRING OUT THE KIMONOS!
