You either had a typo or something but I don't recall mentioning a bass being sold on eBay. You must have gotten me confused for another member, bro.
Already got the tickets for the Portland gig! Will be my 8th Rush show! +2112 for Geddy bringing back all the old basses. And who knows, maybe the surprise will be Neil Peart miraculously growing his hair back then opening the show with I Think I'm Going Bald....
That was on the Snakes & Arrows tour 2007-2008.
The last time the Ric saw the stage before that was in early 1983 at the end of the Signals tour.
I'm hoping for some riffs from the Caress of Steel album....
There are some pics running around of the red bass in question on the Counterparts tour. I believe there is one in the Test For Echo tourbook and there are videos that you can even find on YouTube of it. I wonder if this the red bass we see now, but had a different neck put on in 1996.
Beyond the RIC and Wal, I think a lot of us GAS affected freaks would love to see Geddy pull out a Sadowsky, FBass, Alembic, Beatle bass, etc... something different. Just because he has played the black Jazz for so long.
Crazy enough, I hung out with one of Geddy's close relatives when I was a teenager and he was/is a great bass player. We played Geddy's amps and basses a few times. Mostly Fender, Sunn and Ampeg (don't recall a RIC). Weird as I was I huge Rush fan, but I never thought much about playing such cool gear. Maybe I was too baked.
It would be cool to see him play something else...he would be killer with a Spector.

He actually does own a Spector and said he loves it. This was 3-4 years ago, but I would be suprised if he doesn't still own it.
I heard an interview with Alex recently, and he said Geddy has no real acceptance of limits on collecting. He started with 2 baseballs and now has 4000+, has thousands of bottles of wine, and said, "He's now collecting every bass. Seriously, if you own a bass Geddy wants to buy it, he wants them all".
I have seen some of his wine collection as we used the same wine storage facility. I hate to use the term "********", but it fits. I used to have a wine buying problem and remember buying 3-4 $500 bottles of very hard to find Burgundies to lay down for special occasions. Geddy? 60 bottles of each vineyard, so 240-300 bottles. Personally (thankfully? lol) I can tell the difference between a $10 bottle and a $25 bottle, but that's as far as my refinement goes. Rodney Strong will always taste like heaven to me
