Yeah, and he can laugh about it, which is a good thing. Same for the kimono phase. I cracked up when he was talking about it in the documentary and how much grief UFO gave them for it.

I was about to pull the trigger but there's too many fees! Was going to get Van Halen tickets but their prices are outrageous. I think I'll pass this time, when I saw Rush 2 years ago I didn't like the whole orchestra thing they had going on. Unless this is their last tour ever? Or should I spend my money buying Rolling Stones tickets? Those guys are even older.

Seen the Stones many times live and RUSH show blows them away for quality of music/sound.

I saw Van Halen a few years ago when DLR first came back and it was very lounge act. No musical growth since the 70's apparently with Dave onstage and the same old "I forgot the words" schtick. Very Vegas. I would rather see Van Hagar again than the DLR version of VH. I would DEFINITELY go Rush over VH or the Stones.

This hair and these glasses beg to differ!

But it's so weird, having discovered Rush around 1984-1985 Grace Under Pressure then going back to discover all the previous albums...back then it seemed like they had been around forever but that was only 10 years after the release of their first album! Now here it is 30 years after THAT!

I started listening to them right as “A Show of Hands” was released, so 1988 I guess. After I picked that up and a friend of mine let me listen to his copy of “Moving Pictures”, I spent my first real paycheck on buying all of their albums up to that point, and was amazed that they had how much they had released. 7 studio albums recorded before the end of the 70’s, 5 more after that (at that point), and all were awesome IMHO. That’s impressive for 14 years at the time.

I know the guy that sold him that scroll bass. He actually has 2 of them I think.

That bass was identified in another thread as a rare Hofner solidbody.
