Geddy Lee Sansamp Pedal!

Yup, HPF before the clipping section. Makes the drive tighter and more guitar like, with the expectation that you'd recover the lows by blending in the deep channel and/or boosting the bass knob. Quite useful for high output basses with a lot of low end output, to stop things getting too fuzzy.

Yeah, I find it cuts too much low end for my setup. It would be cool if it was a two stage button, with one option not smothering the bottom off so hard.

That said, I find I don't really need it, so you are likely right about the high low end output basses.

Aren't the 80 Hz the choice frequency of the drum kick ?
Well maybe not in a RUSHy kind of band , right ?

I tend to agree with this chart as a good average range:

Huh, I was thinking is was probably a global HPF set low at something like 40 Hz to tighten up the low end, not the overdrive (which certainly already has at least one pole of HPF). I do wish Tech 21 would provide these details. I don't have one of these yet but am looking to try one at some point.

Yep. If I'm not mistaken, in the Andrew Barta interview he explains more about how the YYZ is responsive to level of attack as heavier attack is a part of Ged tone. The Tight is also there to accommodate players with softer attack not sound farty. When Tight is engaged mix lows back in from the Deep side
