Geddy Lee Sansamp Pedal!

thomann who were saying this morning pedal would be in stock in about a week are now saying 5-6 weeks!

That's because the last unit of their first (still upcoming) shipment was ordered during the day. So now they wait for the next batch. That happens. I've watched some other items thinking I might buy soon and missed the chance like that. I am not sure if I should learn from past experience or if I actually did (learn patience).

Do you know for sure they actually received any or is this wishful thinking on your part?

No I do not think they received those yet but they seem to have sold all in advance. I do not know this for a fact as in did not call them and ask and don't work for them or anything. It is simply how it looks. And similar has happened to items I have been watching before.

Got my pedal last week. Tried it on two gigs. So far, no good. Like my DUG pedal much better. Cant seem to get the punch out it for my live sound. Gonna try again as i have two gigs this week.
What kind of bass and rig are you using? I’ve seen 2 similar reviews on the Sweetwater site and have been curious about what’s going wrong with certain players not liking this pedal. I don’t own it yet but had the opportunity to buy before they became so hard to get.

Have you tried the sample settings from the manual? I'm guilty of ignoring those at first, but they have sometimes helped when I've had trouble with a pedal.

Of course all the other gear in the chain matters too, as sonofshel said. I definitely own some pedals that sound better with some basses than others -- f'r instance killer with P-style, meh with J-style (or v/v).

I was using a pj w Nordstrand pickups and pre. Bergantino B amp and cabs. Maybe the pedal would work better with a jazz bass? And im gonna take the manual and try some sample settings. Love the DUG, hoping to live this

It's always possible that the pedal isn't your cup of tea. That said, unless you're under a limited window to return it for a refund, I'd say keep tinkering, give your ears time to adjust.

Totally understand your love for the dUg pedal, though. Was love at first listen for me, and it'll be tough for the YYZ to top it (though I try to keep an open mind).

I haven't owned one myself, but from sound demos I'm not into what the dUg pedal does. From my impression the dUg has more of a "baked in" sound where the YYZ is more neutral and transparent in character. That's a similar reason for why I drifted away from Darkglass stuff because I wasn't digging "that" sound over time. Maybe I'm talking nonsense, but that's my take at describing my experience.

It's a bummer to see something I like so much have a middling rating on Sweetwater!

Just popped over to Sweetwater to see that for myself. Only three reviews...hardly a litmus test of the awesomeness of this product, but it was kinda cool to see my Jazz bass mentioned in one review and myself in another. lol I think its running into the same issues some had with the GED-2112, it allows the user more control over multiple variables, which in turn makes it more versatile but may discourage some who may be expecting to plug it in and select "program 1,2,3, etc" of canned pre-programmed settings. It's really an exceptional product with unlimited capabilities. To those that may not hit it off right away, spend some time with it...you'll be happy you did.
