Geddy Lee Sansamp Pedal!

The Guy is entitled to his opinion, and some will like the pedal and others won't and seeing as it is an open forum it is only right that both opinions are expressed. Oh and please less of the Snowflakery when you refer to a member as a Troll just because you don't like their opinion. I just knew it wouldn't be long before someone produced the Troll card.

It will begin shipping in May.
I think I just found my birthday present :D

Put in the preorder earlier. Decided not to wait any longer. I've been on the fence with a X7 after A/B'ing it with the GED-2112 in an attempt to tone match for this and a Squire sound. I could never get it quite as organic or the drive as tasty as the GED. Looking forward to the YYZ taking over that role. Plus the YYZ should make life easier by not lugging around extra rack gear all the time

I'd like to hear some demos of this pedal in NON-Rush contexts.
Don't get me wrong; I love Geddy and Rush like the next guy. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tech 21 gear, and own and use several of their products (and countless others in the past - seriously, they're my favorite brand) but this pedal seems like a bit of a one-trick-pony.

I'd be interested in hearing the more subtle ranges (clean, or just on the outer fringes of overdrive) myself. I'm sure this pedal is capable of it - as are both RPM & RBI units (with a little finesse).

I'm thinking this pedal would excel more-so in those areas due to the clean blend capabilities.

Agreed here - keeping an eye out for more knob twirling demos. It seems like the rack-pre is prime for those wanting tonally flexible pre with a bang-on Geddy setting on tap. The pedal strikes me more as a compact option if you need 'that sound' on tap for certain songs/occasions. We shall see...

My guess is it shares the spirit of the Tech 21 character series pedals; having some ability to dial in other sounds but designed with a specific one in mind.

Since I got to tinker with it at NAMM, I can tell you that it has a nice and fat clean setting. I was never much of a fan of my v1 BDDI (and it hasn’t been on my board in a long time), but this model has some nice tones to it. I may end up using it as my main OD or for extra overall tone shaping.

Nice. From what you recall, does shifting the "mix" knob between deep & drive require adjusting the master? Or could you set it so you can switch from mostly deep > mostly drive and not have a huge volume shift?
