Geddy Lee Sansamp Pedal!

@Gefilter1001 Have a question(s) if I may,

Would you be using this as a standalone always on preamp or as an effect pedal?
And by any chance, have you tried stacking this with DP3-X?

I have a DP3-X, which I love and I use it as an always-on, but with tame settings - chunk at 2o,clock, drive at 12o'clock and gain swith out. I was looking for a distortion pedal, until YYZ showed up I was looking into Darkglass offerings. But now I wonder how this combo would play out.
I see you as a Tech21 Guru and your opinion is highly appreciated.

Apologies for any English mistakes.

Cheers!

Hello! I use the pedal as an always on tool. As far as pairing with the DP-3X? That's a huge yes...works like a charm.

does the clean channel in the YYZ have compression or some kind of drive?

or ist it just a pure clean signal? (I would prefer some kind of compression, because i feel it would mix better with the overdrive channel)
There may be some in there, nothing that radical. Its nice and tight and deep

The Deep channel is a preset EQ curve (to Geddy's specs) that adds back the clean low end that is not available in the more distorted settings.

Anyone know what the tight switch does, specifically/technically?

• Tight button to add definition to your notes in cleaner settings and make distorted tones snappier.

About to pull the trigger on preordering one and I’m on the fence because...do I need it? Ok, nobody needs anything, we’ve clearly established that on TB. I say that because my board currently has a Darkglass Alpha Omega and a Vintage Microtubes on it.

I love the AO more because it has an actual EQ section that works well and it has the ability to go from very mild to very wild with the two different OD's built in to mix however I want. It's probably one of my favorite pedals that I've ever used.

The MT is a little trickier to find something that works, but I have used it solo as well as stacked with the AO for some very cool tones. I'm one of the few here who has actually played on a YYZ so far, but I was very impressed how quickly you could dial it in and how well it did it. The circuitry they created that goes from deep to drive is an impressive design. Maybe I'm just a sucker for the Geddy Lee tone and the mint green color, haha!

"How do you know whether you need it unless you buy it and do a full comparison with your other pedals?" Signed, Fuzzbass -- AKA the little devil whispering in your ear

I've got over a dozen dirt pedals that I love, so I sure as heck don't "need" the YYZ... but I was impressed with the demos I heard, and believe I'll get along very well with the feature set. So yeah, I'm in the same boat as you.
