Geddy Lee Sansamp Pedal!

I forget what YT comments must be like so I can see where you're coming from.
Mainly, I'd noticed the comparisons between the VTBass and the GED but its different from the VTBass imho. Its less Ampegy and doesn't get muddy/I'm also very curious about the Mix function too/ Haha my first case of GAS this year

I agree on all points, brotha.

I've got one on pre-order, looking forward to giving it a spin!

Any word on a release date?

Can't recall which website, but I saw one place estimated about 2-3 weeks before it would be in stock.

Normally, I order all my online gear from Sweetwater, but sadly - they don't have it listed yet.

I ordered mine from Link Removed out of New Jersey - they also have a "Notify Me" if you care to be notified via e-mail when it arrives in stock.

I can't help but wonder if it adds the Deep side's lows to the clean/Drive side in parallel the same as the 2112 does or not.

Here's hoping it does. I was wondering how they might implement that in pedal form - if any compromises had to be made. But, one can wonder all day long - I figured I'd just have to go all in & try one out for myself. Return policies offer a safety net, so I've nothing to lose & hopefully some killer tones to gain. :D

Did you get the chance to record anything?

I got in late on Thursday and it was already deafening in there: I’m coming back early, before the show floor opens, tomorrow to demo some stuff. It’s on the list ;)

Reading the informtion in the Tech 21 Club its clearer about what they did with the Geddy 2112 bi-amp design for the YYZ pedal.

- via tech21nyc: "The YYZ is not a Character pedal though it uses the same style chassis. The signal is split internally to the Deep and Drive sections and you can Blend between the two which are summed to a single output.

"If you note the graphic on the pedal the low, mid and high controls are for the Drive side only. The saturation on the Deep channel is preset. I'll have to check but I assume the Deep is preset to Geddy's preferred setting."

Soooo cool

I was so frustrated with the GED 2112
I found it not so cheap and also didn't like the rack size ( I have to take train to go to rehearsal I can't take that with me) but it seems to sound super wow !!

Yesterday in rehearsal I was saying to the guys ( because they laugh about me and my perpetual pedal tone quest ) that now I've got my ultimate tone and that no more pedal were needed ( it was true at this time ).

30 min later I read about the Tech 21 YYZ that I didn't know.
And I felt again in the pedal game.

Wow! Came here to post a question and this might be the answer.

In trying to push that edgy, gritty tone, the low notes just crap out once I get a nice distortion.
Maybe it’s the blend of clean and distorted signal? EQ? High pass filter on the dirty signal?

Been trying a Boss Overdrive, VT, and even using a combo of pedal and amp drive settings...always close, but the lowest notes just “ fart”
Any hope? If this is the wrong forum, my apologies, but his seems to be a group with some experience on this.

BTW, the YYZ pedal is on the Sweetwater site and now in my Wish List. Looking forward to the reviews.

Thank you for the info - I've been scouring the net & TB for as much info on the YYZ pedal as I can find.

It appears the YYZ pedal is implementing a permanent version of the TIE jumper mod (summed Drive & Deep channels to a single output) as optionally found in the GED 2112 rackmount version.
