Geddy Lee sig with no pickguard?

I recently took off the pickguard on my Geddy Lee sig and I really like the looks of it that way. Anyone else done this? I'll put a pic up tomorrow.

my bass instructor did that to his. he said hes gonna have the neck sanded down as well, he said something about mini soapbars, and a hipshot. I would love a geddy at the right price.

Geddy's are cheap (for some reason): Look on Ebay - - I've seen them as low as $400.

i dont like the holes - i got a black PG and it gives it the same effect - I love it.

The problem with ebay is that the geddys tend to have VERY shotty fret work sometimes. Like they stick out of the side of the neck.

Considering how often I need to adjust the truss rod it's a lot easier to leave the guard off.

Until I route an access groove in my tort guard, that is.

You have black knobs and a black control plate with black screws but your bridge is chrome, output jack is chrome and your pickguard is B/W/B with chrome screws. I say go all black, get a pure black pickguard with black screws, black output jack and a black bridge or don't do it at all. Sorry, just my opinion.

As posted above, I have a few more things to buy.

I just have a few other priorities than the minor things. I make it all black so I wont be seen on stage.. but being the bassist, thats not too hard!
