Geddy on The Big Interview Oct 24th

In my band, the lead singer books the gigs, schedules the rehearsal, hires subs, etc. so he's really the bandleader and I find that works for me because I don't want to be stuck doing those things.

I just found the time to watch it last night. When it was over, I watched it again. It's rare to find a celebrity (these days, at least) who is as down to earth and genuine as Geddy Lee. No arrogance, no pretentiousness, and none of the elitist attitude that far too many musicians subscribe to.

Geddy really encompasses what I see most days in Toronto. I've been fortunate enough to meet a lot of people like him, all in different careers (besides music). He's a suburb guy, and the suburbs here have their own small town within a big city vibe.

Plus he and the Rush boys grew up in families with strong work ethics. You hear it in their interviews, these guys don't take their cool life for granted and have always been hard workers. I mean Geddy took on bass, singing duties, then synthesizers, pedals, triggers...all enough to drive most people mad. No one in that band could be called lazy...
