Inflation is like a hamster wheel
You make more ,or don’t , and everything keeps going up, wages go up , goods go up.
Sure the standards went from 699 to 749. But look closer and you'll see the jazzmaster HH went from 599 to 779. The Chris Shiflett went from 729 to 899. $170! 20% increase
The crazy priced MIMs even went up. The Jimmy Page Dragon telecaster went from 1399 to 1499.
The H.E.R strat went from 1099 to 1199.
The Brad Paisley from 1229 to 1399.
The Albert Hammond Jr Strat from 829 to 999.
Yes every year Fender adds $25 and blames it on CITES or whatever, but this is $170.
Thats like 6 years of increases at once.
I sure hope Fender financing goes up now. We'll need to see 36 month or 48 month more often instead of once a year.

Call and ask for a new one. I called and asked for a bass player to be assigned as my rep.

It’s the price of admission. How many minutes of gigging will it take to amortize the extra $30?

Anybody paying paying $430 for a McDonald's cookie cutter Squier when you can get some REALLY nice used instruments for about $500 should have their head examined anyway.
The 1972 Fender catalog MSRP for a burst/rosewood/righty was $293. You could buy one from a shop for $225.
Most annoying phrase ever. When you live in the first world, first world problems are your problems.
My educated guess is COVID keeping a lot of people "inside", many are picking up new hobbies to pass the time. I really look forward to the used market in a year or two.....
