Anybody know the specifics that Geezer used back in the day? I know that now he is a Lakland endorser. My favorite Sabbath albums are "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and Sabotage so if you know anything about that era that would be awesome. Not necessarily trying to find his sound, I am just curious about what he was using.

The very early clips of Sabbath doing Paranoid on TV shows him playing a Fender Precision through Orange amps.
Very cool...
He is shown in the Vol 4 foldout playing a clear Dan Armstrong bass. I think he used Ampegs by then.

I think they both, Geezer and Toni were using Laney rigs. The footage of them using Orange gear is supposedly the backline for those gigs and not their gear. Ive heard Toni did not like Orange gear. If you go on youtube look for Sabbath Paris 1970. Killer gig and full Laney backline. There is also some good info in the comments.

I'll check the video out when I get home. I'm killing time at work and can't get Youtube here.

The Orange rigs in that clip were supplied by the TV show they were on and all bands on the show used them. Sabbath said they hated them and only used them there, but now everyone thinks they used Orange.
Yeah... Iommi's own rigs have mostly been Laney. For a very brief period he used Mesas, but went back to Laney.

Anyway, I think in the very early days, Butler was just using Laney heads and 4x12 cabs the same as Iommi. Not sure when he switched.

I've always really wondered how he got his tone on "Live Evil."
