Gene Simmons LoBue Tribute Build

You get a much better recording with a passive bass by using a DI or fx pedal but you have to use the line in instead of the mic input.

Here's my issue...
My band's last practice before the gig was yesterday. I anticipate having the bass ready by tonight (depending on the wife's mood)

I am filling in for a "Gene" in another KISS band on the 25th (practice) and 26th (actual gig).

My band's gig is on the 27th.

Do I take the LoBue to the practice and gig on Saturday with the other KISS tribute, or do I save the bass for my band on the 27th?

Or that extended bass break during "Let me go Rock N Roll" I'm not sure if he used the LoBue or his Gibson Grabber on that version on "Alive" but that shows how tight he and Peter Criss were as a rhyhtm section.

Speaking of which, look at this:

Well, (drum roll) the time has come. My lunch hour went from eating to bass setup time.

The headstock on that particular build, IMHO, is influenced by Gene's first Spector bass. So, I guess you could maybe call it a LoBue/Spector tribute bass.

But, I could be wrong.

EDIT:
As far as the binding goes, if you want it to be more than a prop used in a show (it deserves more respect than that!), I'd perhaps take it to a sign shop, or someone that does pinstripe work on cars/motorcycles. It wouldn't cost much, at all. If they're good with a brush, they can freehand it without even masking it off. Which takes talent, to say the least! They could knock it out in absolutely no time. That's what I'd do, especially with the effort that's been put forth so far. Great job, man.
