by bands youve never heard of .....
that's kind of the point. you could be the greatest rock band ever, but you won't impress anyone and will remain obscure because its a dead artform as far as the mainstream is concerned.

I must be sure to write down this important information somewhere.
Rock isn't dead, it's just been relegated to the sidelines, like so many other styles of music that came before it. There will be a day in the not too distant future where you won't be able to find a classic rock radio station on the dial. I remember the day that the last radio station near me that used to play 50s music, stopped doing so. It's just the way it is.

And, for those comfortable in the role of casting aspersions at persons older than themselves, ask yourself why Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, Rossini, et al, are still the pinnacle of the arts, and will be revered till the end of time.
