Steve Hackett has always had a bit of a thing for Japanese guitars. Didn't the Fernandez have the sustainer thing like a built-in ebow (or what was that infinite sustain thing Godley and Creme invented?), and his Burny Les Pauls.I remember reading the liner notes from the “Seconds Out” live album many years ago and I was surprised at some of the inexpensive guitars Genesis used. They had Alvarez acoustics and Hackett had a Fernandes Strat on the list. I just assumed they just took “expendable” guitars on tour with them.
