Genz Benz Amps

Very satisfied owner of a GB NeoPak 3.5, an amp I view as a bridge between the GBE series and the Shuttles. It's my main gigging and rehearsing amp, and only gets benched once or twice a year when I get to break out my '76 SVT for a festival gig.

When my finances allow, I'll be checking out the Genzler and Mesa stuff @Jeff Genzler and @agedhorse have been cooking up, respectively.

That's not a -cc version, just a standard 210 from about 25+ years ago. I believe they were available in both 8 and 4 ohm versions over the years.

Note that the RMS power handling is low by today's standards, about 250 watts, so be careful when using with big amps.

I hope you have enough cab to make use of that 1200. I have the 750 and even through a stout 4x10 (Goliath IV or XB), I can barely get the master above 2 with the channel volume at about noon. I would basically want 4 Goliaths if I was going to open it up even to having the master at noon. And it would be DEAFENING.

I like it overall. Pretty flexible especially with the "shape" circuits (which are more useful with the footswitch which mine came with). Still getting the hang of the 5 band EQ and still figuring out the best settings for the tube channel.

GB stuff is definitely great in general, I also have a STL 210T, and a really beat up 410T from the mid 90s which still sounds really good.

You can't go wrong with any of the GB amps, if you can find one. ;). I've had just about all the Shuttle series amps at one time or another, and have had zero problems with them. And, it doesn't hurt to have the designer, Agedhorse, here on TB, posting almost daily, answering questions about these great amps. My faves were the second version of the Shuttle series, the " .2 " models. I now have a Shuttlemax 12.2, but the 9.2 is just as awesome. For a great, all around , no nonsense head, the Shuttle 6.2 gets my vote, after trying many other brand's versions of the " 5lb, 500 watt " lightweight bass heads. Excellent gear.

Not to mention @agedhorse still does factory service on the product line. He is part of the reason I currently use a Mesa D800 and wouldn't hesitate to buy any Genz Benz gear. Part of me still wants another GBE600 or 750.

Agreed - a Streamliner 900 has been my main gigging amp since I got it - well over 500 gigs on it, and it's been stone reliable... I also have a Shuttlemax 12.0, and consider both of those amps to be keepers... Along with those, I've also owned a GBE 600, and a NeoPak 3.5, both were great amps, too...

I am using the Neox400 112t combo with neox 210t cabinet right now and although I'm really gasing for the Genzler
stuff, I really love my Genz Benz rig

Yeah, Andy serviced my Streamliner 900 this past summer, and was just great about it... It wasn't giving me any troubles, I just figured I'd take advantage of his offer to "look under the hood", and get the LEDs fixed at the same time - had my amp back in a week, good as new - and for a very reasonable price...

I own both a GB Shuttle6.2 & a Streamliner900 which I normally pair with a GB NEO-X 212 cab for home practice and gigs (so lightweight!), all 3 of which I bought used ... the last 2 right here on TB for excellent prices:)

My first 'real' amp (which never leaves the rehearsal space any more) is a vintage tube Ampeg V4B + 410. To my ears, the Streamliner comes quite close to the Ampeg, but I prefer the punchiness of the Shuttle in the mix with the band live.

I'm a broke bloke who can't afford to buy new equipment so i haven't tried any of the newer Genzler configurations, but I'm a happy camper as is.

I bet your new find is quite capable of putting out some boss tones :bassist: So many choices!

Funny that you mention that, because my Streamliner 900 comes the closest to my Mesa 400 out of all the hybrids I've played, and there have been many... I can get plenty of punch out of my Streamliner, but do like how well my Shuttlemax 12.0 works in a busy mix thru a Mesa PH210 on top of a PH115 - that rig speaks with the same kind of authority as the Mesa 400/PH215 rig I sometimes gig...

Picked up this bass cab recently. Looking for info..the sticker on back says it's 4 ohms, but I always thought these speakers run at 8 ohms. I have a Hartke 2000 amp I'd like to use with it. I'm a newbie, so opinions, comments and/or advice is welcomed.

Hey MJhnsn, Just wondering How you're liking that 210cc. I got one a few years ago and have used it numerous times, with an Ampeq B1RE to power it. Most of our smaller gigs its all I need to get the bass out from the backline. It rocks.
