Burning smell solved! Gigging last night using my little 1x12 Markbass combo got that smell again. It is coming from the drummers powered monitor which is always positioned close to my bass rig. Possibly some type of intermittent internal short circuit?. Anyway will have it checked out. Continuing to use the Genz cab with the Tecamp Puma 900 and this is a really impressive set up IMO.

Genz Benz NX2-212T

Here's a question for you 212T owners: if you were looking for a modular rig (2 112 or even 115 cabs) from a currently production line and wanted a similar tone as that of your 212t, what would you consider?
It's possible that what you smelled was not what you thought you smelled too
(This just sounds so wrong... ugh)

The closest thing I have played would be a Bergantino HS210
From reading it seems like the Berg CN stuff and the NX2/NeoX are in the same ballpark. Maybe more high mid articulation in the CN stuff, possibly stronger low end. Of course, that's just from reading. A lot of reading.
Not exactly similar, but I am having fun with the Baer ML112. Roll back a bit of high mid and add some low mid with a semi-para. eq and it'll cop the Nx2 vibe.
Excellent feedback, thank you. As it happens, I've explored both of those options and have recently been really curious about the Baer. Just lots of reading about them. It's encouraging to hear someone that has experience with both.
I recently snagged a near new NX2-212T for a steal on eBay-$399! Based on the many glowing reviews here on TB(Thank you!!!) and Ed "King of the video reviews" Friedland, I jumped on this! My hopes were very high and have been greatly exceeded! WOW! Having owned cabs made by EA, Schroeder, Phil Jones (recently sold) and Acme (soon to be sold), this is the best cab that I have ever owned! It sounds like a 3-way cab and the clarity, punch and well defined bottom are absolutely amazing! I have to turn down my amp gain and volume controls because this bad boy is so much more efficient and LOUD!!! My ACME Low B 4 is still the king of true clean super low frequencies, but the NX2-212T wins in the dispersion, punch and bite categories and easily cuts through our dense contemporary gospel church mix that includes the dreaded Leslie speaker cabinet! This is my first experience with Genz Benz, 12 inch drivers and Faital. A smashing success to say the least! If you ever have the chance to get one, don't hesitate!!! ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!
I second that. I love my GB NX2-212T as well. I gig a lot and the light weight factor is a deal maker, let alone the amazing sound and volume the cab puts out. I wish I had a second one as a back up. With my Modulus and Roscoe basses I roll off the treble but my Lull M5V - GB Streamliner 900 into the NX2-212T cab, the result is perfection. I am going to look into Jeff's new line of bass heads / cabs (Gentler Amplification)

As things go here, my NX2 is on back burner now since I bought a used, Gen 2 BF BT-T, just an awesome cab. And I think I'm spoiled by what I hear thru 3-way cabs now. Just sold my TB153, my first 3-way....well, not my very first 3-way, cab wise anyway.
But I ran my latest new amp, Peavey MM1000 thru all my cabs and with the BF being slightly taller and just a few pounds more than my NX2, it just slays with that little amp. And not much more effort to move on my folding cart. I also just sold my two TC-E RS210's. Trying to clear out unused gear. I know I will have gigs where the NX2 will be needed for the quick n easy load in/load out, easy schlep factor. So for now, it's the BF BT-T starting; with the NX2 on deck.
Funny how Genz Benz company folded yet there is still talk about their gear here and first time users. thanks for rehashing this thread, enjoy that cab. It's quality stuff.

Congratulations on snagging a fabulous cab for a ridiculously low price.
Aside from it's great tone & punch, you're going to love it's Versatility and light weight (47lbs).
