The front end can go from clean to all-tube overdrive if one wants it.

Well now! I've long admired Genz for their innovation, customer service, etc., but haven't yet found a GB head that completely does it for me tonally. (I'm all about gooey tube tone and own a Walkabout as well as an old V-4B.) This could be the one that wins me over.:) Kudos for the new head, at any rate.

Loving the 500 watts @ 8 ohms/900 @ 4. Loving the 3-tube front end!! Gooey tube goodness is what I want. Not loving the loss of the sweepable parametric mid control, though the chosen 3 center freqs are useful. Why was that taken out? So easy to leave it in...seems like a mistake to me. Also, a biggie for me, going by the single picture we've seen, this head doesn't appear to be rack-mountable which kinda stinks. (Unless I missed it, I see no screw holes on the side that you would attach ears to). I know this isn't a member of the Shuttle series, but I hope the rest of the Shuttle's feature set was retained (selectable DI out, FX loop, HP jack). Definitely interested; would be more interested if it was rackable.

Regarding the semi-parametric mid design... my guess would be to give it more of the vibe of a certain famous all tube amp with those 'discrete' midrange voicing points.

This sort of amp is obviously not my thing, but if they pull off a very tubey sounding front end (which they don't really have in the line-up right now) with this high power section and lightweight, that will be very cool for the rockers, etc. I can't think of another product like this... maybe that Ampeg SVT7Pro. The GK MBFusion seems to sound more like the MB500 than a more old school tube deal, even though it has the three 12ax7's like this. And, the wonderful Walkabout doesn't quite have the wump.

Thanks for that info, KJung. Good points. I'm stoked about this amp. I just hope they make a rack kit of some kind for it. I can't wait to see more pics and get all the specs. Being that info isn't out now (I.E. in time for XMas) it will probably be after the new year. I hope I'm wrong though! If this turns out to be what I'm hoping for, my 6.0 will be up for sale.

To be clear, I am totally guessing at this point. However, I sure do like what I see so far, but I know nothing factually about this amp. I just love when an interesting new piece of gear comes out, and tend to try to 'guess' the design goal and the tone based on the limited specs we have. I have a pretty good hit rate, but surely not perfect:D

Genz is VERY good about never talking about a new piece of gear before it is ready for production. My guess is, this will take a while to get into the distribution channel (not their fault), but I would think this would be shipping soon (January/February... NAMM)

Genz are a good team; the 9.0 was available to order and came in stock in the UK VERY fast last year.

I do really like the aesthetics and idea of this amp, cool product and kudos to Genz for how they work and how they support the customer. Many companies have a lot to learn from them.

I have had a great offer on a new Shuttle 9.0, and im after a different flavour of amp, so I might snap it up whilst the deal is hot :)

I love GB's customer service; second to none. They really hit it out of the park with the Shuttle series, and this new Streamliner series looks to be another homerun! I almost bought a 9.0 a couple weeks back; something kept the credit card in my wallet. At first, I thought it must've been the Fear of Wife Power, but now I know it was the Streamliner calling my name.
