:D Tongue in cheek or not, I noticed this also. Every once in a while, a product comes along that really is a game changer. Of course, until we hear it, who knows, but the design goal is wonderful and IMO, has not been executed before. We shall see!

Good points Ken. So far, most of my amps are aiming at the 'warm, tube like or actual tube' market.

This is where the 9.0 or Streamliner point comes in, as I am looking for a more tight, clean and precise amp head which strays away from the 'rock' voicings I normally pounce on. Hence im tempted by the 9.0.

Whether I jump on the 9.0 offer ive been given (which is so good, I could effectively sell it on with no real loss if I felt the Streamliner is more 'me') is what is looming in my mind. I would actually really like to have a full Genz rig, as my dealer can get great prices on Genz, whereas the other cabinets Ive been looking at are basically full retail and thats it....no movement.

Money isnt always the deciding factor, but bargains are always great! :)

just as an fyi, our tone network isn't "interactive" like a "Fender" tone stacking network. So, when you adjust your "bass", it doesn't affect the other controls.

It is also has an active mid network.

I'm really bad at forming my own tone-idea based on words... let me try with examples:

Do you think it might be defined as a Mesa Walkabaout on Steroid (e.g. with more power)?
or do you think it might be a light weight Aguilar DB750/751 ?

I think it might be a Genz Benz Streamliner.

I doubt the Genz guys would come out and say " it sounds just like so and so".

Let me take a stab. It sounds like the power section of a 9.0 with a Streamliner preamp in front. :)

How exactly does the Stream liner change the game from the GK MB Fusion.:ninja:

Generally interested here, not trying to rip GK fans against GB fans.

Seems to me: 6 stage tube pre, simple eq, digi power, LOUD has been done, just not with a GB tuned flavor.

True if you are only looking at the 9.0 "Appreciation" thread. However, searching the TB amp archives will reveal thousands of posts on the 9.0 that have been made since (and before) its release.

I'd like to make a more sweeping statement, not necessarily in response to the above quoted statement. The 9.0 is a highly regarded, mature product that has sold well and and is established to such an extent that the Streamliner will not replace it in the GB product line in the near future. Just because the Streamliner is highly anticipated by the TB community, and is experiencing the usual hype buzz of new products here, does not mean it will automatically supplant the 9.0.

You don't have to convince me, I'm a Shuttle 9.0 owner :)

The Shuttle max has an additional FET preamp channel that feeds the power amp.
So you have a TUBE channel and a Solid State Preamp in one unit.
The MAX has an additional semi Parametric MID EQ per Chanel.Y It has Bass, Low Mid semi Parametric, Hi MID semi Parametric, and High per preamp. So with the MAX you have a separate Low mid and Hi mid Semi parametric per preamp channel.
You can also run each preamp separately or combine the two together at the same time for an all new sound

The MAX has a HIGH gain button to adjust input gain and allow you to overdrive the first gain stage if you want distortion in your sound.
In addition , with the MAX, you are able to vary the degree of emphasis that the Presets have on the signal when those presets are activated.

Mine travel in the Genz Benz gig bags all the time.. Its a light weight amp, and i don't want to put a lightweight in a 10 pound rack unit.. just my way of doing it.

I don't know of (m)any who describe the GK sound as especially warm/tubey. The Fusion seems to be "tubey" compared to other GK amps, but that's kind of like saying a Ginsu is sharp compared to a spork.

So does the active midrange have a center "flat" detent, from which in either direction it boosts or cuts, while the passive bass and treble are "full" when turned all the way up, and only cut from there?

So that "flat" (hypothetically, without considering the voicing of the amp) would be 10-5-10?
