Genz Benz repair

hmmm...who did you contact at the company....email etc? Did you give us a phone call? I'm ashamed if our response time isn't stellar.

PM Andy "agedhorse"...he can help. Still, I'd like to know how you tried to contact us so we can make sure it doesn't happen again.

oops.. i was not fast enough..i had a bunch of mozilla tabs open and was going down the list..... never mind..

Roger, do you ever sleep?:)

my boss ....and wife, just asked the same thing the other day.

...........too much Claratin D combined with coffee. :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::D

My job was once an electronics repair tech, TVs, VCRs, DVD/CDs etc...

Just to ask, does anyone know how to grab a schematic for the GBE 400?

The company has not gotten back to me for quite some time so I figured I'd ask here. Thanks...

I haven't seen any request either, though we generally send schematics out to service centers only but we can provide you with the information you need. Note that we have gotten some very odd requests for schematics (in some cases for products that were not even ours) in the past couple of weeks so there may be some spambots out there.

Let me know what the exact problem is with your amp, it may be something so simple a schematic isn't needed. I designed it, I can fix it.

Drome Sound, a music store in Colonie NY had the amp for over three weeks and said they contacted GB. I actually was hoping they could help as they said they could get a schematic and most likely and defective parts...I have college, 3 kids and two bands...I was hoping they could take some work off my hands since I've been buying gear there for 20+ years.(not anymore I guess)

Who is best to contact? Can I purchase a schematic if needed?

When the unit is powered on it cuts off, (or the relay does). I lent it out and thus is my punishment. The fan cycles up and all but like I said the protection circuit activates.

I love GB gear and have a 410 on top a 115. I just want to repair this amp due to lack of GAS funds for a 6.0 or 1200.

Regardless I thank all who jumped in here for advice. I shall be calling the store tomorrow to have it out with their diagnostic tech...I think they are just stalling at this point and I wonder what is going on with my head.

First thing to check... did somebody inadvertantly set the power selector to 230 volts???

Does the protect light come on?

The relay won't close if the protection circuit is triggered. If the relay closes then opens, there is something else going on.

If you can't get things sorted out, we still fully support the amp at the factory. It's not a difficult amp to service if you know what you have some experience with them. If you don't get good answers from your repair shop, you could always send it back to us and one of us will take care of it personally. Keep us informed of your progress.

Call Jeff Genzler at 480.941.0705 and tell him Andy and I sent you. We'll get the schem. released.

Thats kind of what happened to my GBE 600 (due to probable some bad airport handling between Germany and here). I think they said it was like a transistor problem. Took maybe a month or two in the shop, and Im back up and running. Even the repairman I went to said, man those genz benz guys are good!

Sounds to me like the music store was doing the typical thing where they blame the manufacturer....because they haven't looked at your amp yet....This is based on my experience with GB, and plenty of music store technicians that somehow NEVER get any calls back from the manufacturers...hmmm...how odd.
