Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 Appreciation Thread

Oh Kirk, I'll find it, but there is a pic on my facebook page of a buddy of mine (bass player for the freecreditreport.com band on TV) who left his Reddi on the roof of his car, and then got in the interstate....it isn't a pretty picture of what happens to a Reddi at 75 mph.........

As much as I love the modern sounding cabs (AG, SWR and GB etc...) these little suckers seem to light up old school type cabs and make me smile.

Don't get me wrong, a 9.0 will NEVER replace nor sound like a screamin' SVT, but for me, it slays it for MY type of tone (sorta super J but nice and warm)....
+1 and +1

The synergy with the NV610 was a little unexpected and not what I was planning on.

I have Gard's old Zon fretless. The 9 on the NV610 just kills with that bass. My other two axes that I am using regularly are a Fender MM5 and a Tobias Classic 6. Both of those are equally impressive. The other surprising thing is that the NV610 is doing just fine for slap tone with a little tweak of the mids on the S9. And I mean LITTLE. That "limited" parametric is actually pretty powerful.

Just put this system together today.

Killer tone!!!

Man.. you were just telling me you were gonna get that rig.. and you did.. wow that was fast..!! You weren't kidding! Looks real nice too.
How do you like it?

Thanks man!

My Eden rig went quick so I had to act quick as well.

LOVING the tone - warm, clear, and crisp. A nice departure from the Eden "wool". At first I was hesitant to make the "switch" over to 12's, thinking I would loose punch/definition, but man... this particular cabinet paired with the EQ capabilities of the Shuttle 9.0 can do both classic and modern tone profiles.

Did a rehearsal with this setup today... sounds GREAT in a latin jazz context.

For lots of reasons, I haven't been able to bring my 9.0 lately and I've been doing lots of gigs, rehearsals and open jams lately so I have been relying on the provided backline.

Tonight I had a rehearsal at a studio i often use and their provided backline is usually an Ampeg B2RE or Trace Elliot head with Trace Elliot cabs. The cabs are usually a 15 (300 watts @ 8 ohms) and a 15 (200 watts @8 ohms)

I finally had a chance to bring my 9.0 and I connected it to the 15 and slaves it to the 210. MAN! What a difference. I could hear MY bass with such clarity and punch. It was a loud rehearsal with 2 loud guitarists and a loud drummer yet my master volume never went past 11:00. I've owned the Shuttle 9.0 for a year now and I never stop being impressed with it. It's by far the best amp I've ever played through and I feel lucky to own it.

Now, if I could only carry my GB NeoX 212T cab on the subway.....
