Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 Appreciation Thread

5 1/2 years with my 9.0 and I'm still loving this amp. One thing: when I play my P Bass with a loud band, no problem cutting through but with a J style bass, it's sometimes and issue. I don't want to keep raising the volume cause that just causes problems. Bump the Lo mids? Let me know how you set yours .....
Settings are always dependant on the total set up, but yes I would usually recommend a slight push of the low mids.
Frequency control around 9 o'clock and mid gain about 1-2 o'clock. No shape circuits engaged....bass about 1-2 o'clock and season the highs to your taste.

Thank you once again Mr. Jeff Genzler for not only having the best amps but also the best customer service anywhere!

I hope that one day you start a new company as Michael Tobias, Dan Lakin and others did after selling their original companies. There's a big hole in the industry right now without Genz Benz.

New tube on the way. WooHoo!!!

So it was making an awful lot of noise Sunday. Imagine a noisy single coil pickup but with static and it would vary a lot in volume and severity. Changed speaker cable and bass cables, no change. Then I plugged the bass straight into the board and bass was silent. So I went back to the amp and as I was holding the front of it up a couple of inches it slipped and dropped on the top of my Berg. Seriously just the front dropped an inch and a half, two inches. Static noise went away immediatly and I finished the 3 hour rehearsal and it was as silent as I remember it being. I'm hoping it's just the tube it acting up. Any other ideas?

Don't "scrub", the plating is only a couple thousandths of an inch thick. It's NOT the jack contacts that are intermittent, it's the normalling switch contacts inside the jack.

TINY amount of Caig DeOxit will do the job without scrubbing.

Tube delivered and in the Shuttle. After all the Deoxit, which wasn't much, and the new tube it seems to be back to normal. There was only an occasional crackle. Yay, I love this little amp but it did get me to thinking about a backup amp. Another Genz Benz from the used market or a new inexpensive amp just to have a back up?

It depends on what's actually wrong. Does it do this with nothing plugged into the input jack, or only with signal?

I am still providing factory level service with 48 hour turnaround time, so no matter what it is we have you covered.

I just read through all 56 pages... do I get a star or something ;)

I have a 3.0 that I've been using for my church band with an Acme B2 and love it but have felt the need for a little more power and wanted to move the 3.0 back into the saddle of the 8T cab for a practice amp.

I had been looking for a 6.0 or 6.2, lost a couple because I moved too slowly, and then found a 9.0 on ebay that had been listed under the wrong category for a decent price and paid the buy-it-now. It should arrive in about 4 days. I'm really looking forward to the new head. It seems likely that is more than I'll ever need but hey, why not? I'll report back after I've had some time with it.

Did you clean the fx loop sockets? Any crackling my shuttle had was that.
