Settings are always dependant on the total set up, but yes I would usually recommend a slight push of the low mids.5 1/2 years with my 9.0 and I'm still loving this amp. One thing: when I play my P Bass with a loud band, no problem cutting through but with a J style bass, it's sometimes and issue. I don't want to keep raising the volume cause that just causes problems. Bump the Lo mids? Let me know how you set yours .....

Frequency control around 9 o'clock and mid gain about 1-2 o'clock. No shape circuits engaged....bass about 1-2 o'clock and season the highs to your taste.
And it ain't the fx loop being dirty?
That's what mine was when it made this sorta sound.
Clean with DEOXIT on a Q-Tip (or on a jack plug & plug it in n out a few times)

Bumping an old thread cuz I'm finally getting around to buying a replacement tube for my Shuttle 9.0. Is this a good choice? JJ ECC83s / 12AX7 Preamp Vacuum Tube| TubeDepot.com
Tube delivered and in the Shuttle. After all the Deoxit, which wasn't much, and the new tube it seems to be back to normal. There was only an occasional crackle. Yay, I love this little amp but it did get me to thinking about a backup amp. Another Genz Benz from the used market or a new inexpensive amp just to have a back up?
Yeah, I gave all the holes a good squirt and cleaning. Seems to have worked so far.Did you clean the fx loop sockets? Any crackling my shuttle had was that.
