Oddly enough, I got my amp when promised from Greg at Rocket, and wasn't charged until it shipped.

Then again, I always get that service from him - that's why he continues to get my business. Cost and value are two different things...

When I'm able to buy any new gear, it will be from Greg. He's a stand up Guy and I like his business model.

That there ended me with Ye Old Music, I won't go for we'll charge you now and send you one when we want.

:D

God Bless, Ray

Don't hold your breath... I was told the same thing several weeks ago - after he charged my cc..

"soon" what does that mean exactly?

Sent from my iPhone using TalkBass

:eyebrow raised to the sun: Has he shipped yours yet? This is pretty unsettling.

I need a 15' to to privide adequate low end balance in the mix at certain venues I play on a regular basis without PA support. I know GB is great at looking for and filling specific niches, and am therefore surprised they have been late to the 15'/6'/1' party. Those of us that have played them know thaey will someday be as standard as a 4x10, or 2x12.

No, you don't need a 15" loaded cab, you need a properly designed cab for your needs. Driver size has little to do with low end performance as opposed to the actual driver design.

I'm going to agree with Ray. I bought my Steamliner 900 from
Greg and a Mono bag. I'll be looking for a new cab (hopefully
this year) and I'll purchase that from Greg too. He's a great
guy to deal with and has lots of eye candy in the store.
Plus he is local...45 minutes from me.

Greg has received most of my music gear funds the past year for a reason. He is local for me also, only few days drive....

Smallequestrian, I respectfully disagree with you. I have never played a 12' that could push as much air as a 15'. My Avatar TB153 produces far more room filling bottom than my Genz Benz Neo X 212T. No comparison. What 12' cab have u played that can move as much air and produce as much bottom as a 15'?

The Uber Quad is a 12'. 12's do not move as much air or produce as much room filling bottom as 15's. A page back, a Genz Benz endorsed Uber Quad user validated my hope that GB might produce a 15' 3 way by confirming that the Uber Quad does 'not do dub.'. Have u played a 15'/6'/1'?

Speaker/cabinet designers would disagree with you. Its a case by case basis.

Many people used to put a 15" under a 4x10 for more low end volume, but more often than not those 410's have more low end extension than 15's. The 3015 in that Avatar is the king of the crop right now for sure though.

It really is a beautiful 15' driver! Considering the popularity of the LDS Fearful cabs, and the Avatar cab, I am surprised Genz Benz has not responded to demand for these products. On average, I gig 5 nights per week. After years of using 4x10 and 2x12 cabs, I am totally sold on the 4 ohm 15'/6'/1' as a compact 1 cab solution for any gig environment. I can only imagine how superior a GB 15'/6'/1' would be to the competition, especially for us die hard Shuttle and Streamliner fans if voiced to pair optimally with those series of amplifiers.

That's another factoid that's endlessly repeated around TB that could be revealed in a deeper fashion. It's not necessarily true that the typical 410 has more extension (often it has less). It could roll off higher than a decently aligned and sized 115. Or not. But usually that 410 usually has more sub-200 Hz output when fed the same amount of power (until one or the other is out of useful excursion).

This is a different thing than having deeper extension, reaching to lower frequencies in a practical and useable fashion. But indeed, it's a case by case basis for all this stuff. A major surety exists though: that NO CAB MANUFACTURER has drivers that go significantly lower or louder than what any other cab manufacturer has easy access to. Thus, as I always say, unreferenced specs are useless and might as well be outright lies - intended or not. And as Bill always says (or something to that effect), SHOW ME THE GRAPHS.

By the way fölken: 15 foot (15') and 6 foot (6') drivers are not used in 15/6 cabs. And if ANYBODY SHOULD KNOW, it's ME!

I know a couple:

Bergantino HT112ER
fEarful 12/6cube

Thanks tombowlus. So those 2 cabs with 12 inch drivers will produce as much room filling bottom as the Avatar TB-153? If so, I will be looking into them. My GB Neo X 2x12T is a great cab, but does not even come close to the output of clean bottom the 15 inch driver in my Avatar produces. I can't wait to receive my Streamliner 600 and shoot live gig video paired with both the above mentioned cabs.
