More later, but I did have a chance to do a short gig last night with the SL900 and also a bit of basement auditioning prior to that. More gigs this weekend, too.
So far, it makes me happy. I definitely would be dropping the bass control most of the time to at least 10-11:00, and boosting either 600 or even the 2.5K, but I was able to get a few nice tones out of it. I pushed it into the 3DPM and really enjoyed the effect. I still wish I had a mid setting around the 1K mark, but as others have posted, you can still kinda' get there with some creative use of the EQ. The cabs I was using was a pair of AE210's and a pair of the newer GK Neo112-II's. The basses were 60's-ish J's. A Valenti and my AC LG5.
+1 With the AE10's, just a smidge of low cut and a smidge of 600 boost is kind of my 'starting point' with the Streamliner and my VP5. That bass has a good amount of brightness to it in that 1K region, as does the AE10's, so that the voicing is perfect for me for fat and grunty with just that touch of 'hair' in the upper mids to give it character. With my J's, not so much.... can't reall dial it it where I like to hear a J sit.
