Genz-Benz Streamliner Part 5

Here's something new to consider for you guys looking for a case for you Streamliner...

I may have posted this previously in the Shuttle 9.0 appreciation thread, but this is THE way to go for a solid amp case if you have a small amp head. Like many here, I was underwhelmed with the Genz bag, so I did some homework and landed with this case. These are used for camera equipment, EMS equipment, firearms and other sensitive stuff. It worked great for my Shuttle 9.0. Then, I bought new foam and BANG! my custom Shuttle 9.0 case is now my custom Streamliner 900 case!

About $100 for the case with foam. Foam is diced so you pull out to customize the storage space you need. Incredible fit & finish - really well made and tough case. Model is Hardigg Storm i2400 or may also be known as Pelican i2400. Check it out!

I have the "new" one and likely will send it back. I find that the head doesn't fit knobs-up (does fit sideways) and the flap is a pita that provides little/no function. Looks like the previous version is a better design, though evidently less "urban/street hip." Style over substance...

Waiting on the GB bag. I have one for the Shuttle and it is a very tight fit - I assume the S900 bag is the same. I also with the pocket on the Shuttle bag was bigger. Frankly this is one thing I preferred with the GK fusion. The bag for that was very useful - two compartments of the same size, one fit the head, the other would fit multiple cables.

Go check out ebay. Adorama has them @ $99 with cubed foam interior (+ shipping). I bought both my case (originally for Shuttle 9.0) and more recently the new set of foam for my Streamliner from them. Great experience & very fast shipment.

P.S. shoulder strap shown in my pic isn't included with the case...got mine from a Hardigg distributor for less than $20.

i thought it looked like a pair of fancy sneakers so i totally thought it rocked the urban look ;) what do i know, i guess? now i wish i didn't include it when i sold my lmii. great little bag. now they done went and eef'ed it up.

I think its cool looking, sturdy but light and well made and offers more than adequate padding especially since the knobs will be facing up. It has two additional zippered pockets. It also has a smaller zipperd pouch on the inside front cover for picks, etc. The cover flap folds over the two zippered pockets and the compartment that the amp sits in which offers even more padding. The zippers seem to be more heavy duty then others I've had. It helped to coat the zippers with a little Chapstick to make them zip easier since Chapstick is petroleum based.

I picked up one of these to for my STL600.
Perfect fit.
Very nice bag.

Here's my mini rig of utter and complete doomness. Terrible photo, I know, but it's all I got at the moment.

My favorite rig to date. Fat and tubey, but tight and controlled. It's pure sex to my ear. I spent about 10 hours today learning tunes for 2 new cover bands I joined. I'll give it a try by itself to see if I may need to add another HS210 on top later on down the road. Right now, I can't imagine a better rig for me. :cool:

Just ordered a used one on ebay.... shipping to Europe is almost 4 times the price of the item.....

So far my SL600 has been sitting in a regular 19" rack bag by ProTec (using a regular 19" shelf).

I am wondering, what option might be better.
At least in the rack bag, the amp is a bit more protected when it's sitting on the cab as well.

*I* just took an unused 5" Samsonite briefcase and added foam to fit for my Epifani UL502...and will do the same for the (soon to be ordered) Streamliner. Rondo has a 5" thick cubed foam lined briefcase for under $50. IF one can handle the camo like exterior (NOT for the prima donnas) - it does the same thing as any mentioned above :ninja:

Just to be clear on my comments, the Streamliner bag is definitely 'OK'. About the same quality as other OEM bags, and the pocket is big enough for me to fit two 3' speakon cables, a relatively heavy duty 10' power cable, and a relatively heavy duty 6' extension with a three outlet powerblock at one end.

It is a bit of a tight fit, but for the money, it is decent and would work for most.

I'd suggest the Genz bag. To me, having the knobs in an upright position for carrying is much more critical than what might seem to be a bit more padding on the GenzSkinz bag. If you really need protection, then a hard case with molded foam is the only way to go. Don't expect any bag to do much more than help you carry the head.

I just tried it! It will fit, but it is tight and there isn't as much padding on the top as the other sides. I had been using it with knobs pointed to one of the sides and it is a better fit.
As others have said, a bag of any sort is good for carrying the head with extra cables and such. If you want security and better protection, a pelican type case would be better.
