Genz-Benz & Traynor = The real deal!!

I was at a club over the weekend waiting for our band to go on and, as I always do, I was checking out the bands before us.
The bass player, who's group escapes me at the moment, was using a nice 5'er .. MTD something (not many of those around these parts) His amp setup was a Genz-Benz Streamliner 600 and a Traynor TC115 cab. This thing sounded HUGE!! I couldn't stop watching him play... I was hung on every note. The thump this cab was pushing out was incredible. Really really nice full tone and seemed to respond very well to the lighter touch as well. I was very impressed.

The Genz didn't look like it was being pushed very hard as it was a small club to begin with, but the sound his setup was delivering was enormous and noticeable by my other band mates. I also realize it doesn't hurt to have an MTD either :smug:

I felt the need to share this with all of you in case someone was curious about something similar. If I were searching again.. this would be near/at the top of my list.

All kinds of G-B / Traynor combinations are possible :D

Greetings from the North,

Traynor TC115's are all that. I still don't understand why they are so ignored when they are such a great 15" cab. Lately I have been using both of mine at outdoor shows and they do get the bounce happening on the dance floor. For sound and quality they are hard to beat.

I'm currently running a TC1510 single cab .. but I have to say, after hearing that lone 15 .. I'm considering swapping the 1510 for to 115's.

I played an outdoor street festival for aborigional day with my rig (see pic) last night, and it thumped bigtime! Afterwards i had many people come up to tell me I sounded huge out there!
yes traynor is the real deal!
(I only wish i could try out the stremliner though...)

I'm currently amp shopping, and while I've tried a lot of gear that is good and would be more than acceptable in many ways, the best items I've tested hands down are Traynor and Genz-Benz. Both make amazing amps with fantastic tone, and great cabinets too including lightweight options. The fact that I need to move into a lightweight rig might rule out any chance of getting a DynaBass head, which is sad. I've tried the DynaBass 800H a number of times, and if it weighed even half of the 40+ lbs it does, I think it would be my #1 choice. As it stands, I'll probably end up going with a Genz Head and either a Genz or Traynor cab...but I honestly don't think you could go wrong with any combination of equipment from these two companies.

I use this rig all the time when i am at home.. Streamliner 900 and a Uber 115 cab.. It kills!! Just sounds GREAT ! and it s portable.. and the 115 has a tweeter that you can Dial back if you wish to go old school without mud... Cab really speaks well... with Definition and punch

After the particle board cab on my 70's Taynor Bassmaster combo stated crumbling, I made a quickie wooden head cab, run that into my Genz Benz 1x15, the sound is all ever wanted for electric bass, fat and tubey with a little more modern low end.
