So I seem to have started collecting 410’s. I just picked up a near mint 2012 gb410t.

My first (non 10w peavey) amp/combo was a 120w tubeworks 1x15… which i believe was a more affordable division of genz benz. it was a nice hybrid, but i killed it when joined a band and cooked it.

Specs:

1000w! 4x10 neo drivers, 103spl. tweeter. It does not say 4 ohms on the back, but the 8’s were rare so i will assume 4. if someone has more info to figure it out, let me know.

Build:

This thing is a big boy. Aside from being a sharp looking cab (the silver wire mesh grill looks amazing and way better in person than in most online photos), it also is the right width on its side to go under a 70’s v4b. My markbass standard 104hlf also fits, but has the wrong look.

Either way, build quality looks fantastic. The handles and tilt back wheels are nice also. I believe it is 72 lbs which in my books is pretty easy to throw around, and i am not a big dude. I call that moderate weight (vs some of the 90’s era 100-140lbs ampeg 410’s for example).

Sound:

Wow. So this is just a first impression, but the first impression is kind of a “omg i was expecting it to be good but not this good.” Comparison is to orange obc410, traynor tc210 x2, markbass standard 104 hlf. I paired it with my 70’s v4b at flat and mid boost at 1000k, volume 30%. ric 4003 bridge 100%, neck 70%, full tone.

I will say that i read impressions from various forums. One was from one of the genz benz engineers (i assume) stating that it was designed with neo drivers, and a large port size with the goal of avoiding the upper mid honk that many neo drivers can be prone to voicing. Some describe a low mid emphasis. tight lows.

My room, my eq, so this is not extensive. But the lows were indeed tight. I did not sense an overt low mid boost, or upper mid scoop. rather it felt balanced. The highs were smooth with tweeter on full and it did not sound harsh when i turned on the bright switch on the amp (lesser tweeters would sound harsh).

My experience to date is that tweeters are the most obvious difference between a good and a great cab.

So yeah i think reviews were right… tight, punchy, smooth. No real bias in the mids… which is what i want. I have yet to test it with a low f# or b, but i think it is +\- 3db down to 45.

Using it to play albums (full spectrum) sounds great.

More time and direct a/b testing with other cabs will be more telling. Might be the novelty, but right now this will be my go-to.

Final thoughts:

What a gem. power, looks great, sounds great, not too heavy (but not flimsy), and fits perfectly under my old v4b.

The website on the Wayback Machine only shows a 4 ohm option. Perhaps @agedhorse will chime in if 8 ohms was a possibility.

If you have a multi-meter, check the DC resistance. Should be in the ballpark of 3.2 ohms for a 4 ohm cab.

Uber 410's were only available in 4 ohms, this matched up well with the GBE-750, 1200, Shuttle and ShuttleMax 9.0/9.2 and Streamliner 900 amps

old posts from the gb guys seemed to suggest only 8 were made with 8ohms? but i think you are one of them so will defer.

i paired mine with the v4b to get as much out of the 100w as possible. fantastic match.

I've been a huge Genz Benz fan over the years a still have a pair of Compak 300 10T combos, along with several 10T & 12T cabs.

If you're a fan of Genz Benz, take a look at the Genzler offerings which are a fantastic evolution of what they were doing at Genz Benz. That will probably be my next purchase.
the array cabs are cool and i am on the watch. 1000w, 800hz crossover is wild.

Yes, I am one of them.

There could have been some odd one-offs, we did stock the drivers to do an 8 ohm cabinet, but a 1000 watt 8 ohm cabinet wasn't very practical.

Told ya so! Glad you dig it! The Uber series has yet to let me down. Just wait until the outdoor gigs where you can really turn it up, the things get downright scary but always sound so good.

I have had all of the array cabs, and while they are wonderful the Uber cabs give me the old school midrange grunt that I crave.

WOW!

Wish I could find a GB Uber 410T in as mint condition as you've found to complement the mint condition Shuttle 9.0 I recently bought.

GC used seems to always have some Uber410T. They are not always labelled correctly.

I gigged the Uber 410 for a number of years and I can confidently say it was the best cab I ever used. Alas, got too heavy for this aging guy so had to retire it, but nothing compares!
If the one (GB410T) I owned was 30lbs lighter, I'd still own it. Was definitely the BEST cab I ever owned.

I haven't played through the 410 version, only the 212 during a visit to Bass Emporium in Austin years ago. I was actually checking out other cabs, but I discovered that the GB Uber 212 was superior tonally to anything else in the store! That impression stayed with me, and as I'm currently on the hunt for a mid-sized cab I think I will go check out an Uber 410 that's for sale near me.

Though I know it would be a dealbreaker for some folks, the weight is not a deterrent to me.

While we were early adopters of lightweight technology, we were cautious of the early (earliest) Neo speaker motor designs due to issues we uncovered during analysis and testing. Once those issues got resolved, we quickly adopted them in our premium models.

i powerlift so weight is no big deal to me (not that i am huge or anything).

imho anything under 100 lbs is fine. but it becomes less about weight… and more about size imho. big objects, even when light… become unwieldy.

the wheels on the uber are nice

what were the neo driver issues? and how did the high mid voicing get dialled out?
