Hey guys, I spent about 20 minutes with my Uber212 tonight. I left a rehearsal in OC Md to run to a gig in Washington DC to then run to Wilmington De (home) to pick up a freshly delivered Uber 212. I wanted to try it and be sure it was working before loading for my gig tonight in Rehoboth. A christmas concert With Ed Shockley (Vinyl Shockley),Kieth Mack (founder of Scandal w/Patty Smyth) and Doug James (grammy winning song writer biggest hit "How and I suposed to Live without You". I am now back in OC Md but I did have a chance to play through it for about 20 minutes prior to beginning the drive the back to the shore. I was tired and knew I had a 2 hour drive in front of me with 5 hours of windshield time behind me. Well anyway, nothing at this point would impress me but I needed to know it didn't get wrecked in shipping.
I pulled my 6.0 out of the car and my Pbass from upstares set it flat and turned it on and played. We all know my love for the neoX212...well we do don't we? Well anyway to cut to the chase,I was tired hungry and just wanted to get driving but this cabinet kept me playing for 20 minutes as I watched the clock tic by. I already had my dual 112's in the car but after 20 minutes it was time to change over the poad. This cabinet DOES NOT SOUND LIKE A NEO AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything flat and it sounded great. Now before you jump on me and say "Well you endorse Genz so that will be your opinion"... to that I in advance say "bite my a**".Then go try one. I will use this cabinet for the concert tomorrow where not only does it have to handle the fretted and fretless 5 string Smith's, but also my "Zeta" EUB.I will give a full review on Saturday after the concert and some sleep. The "Out of the box" knee jerk opinion is DAMN. The Uber 410 is an amazing 410. Genz nailed this one, no high mids to filter wierd neo tones. Flat and lets go. I aminterested to see how it works in the real world. I'll tell you when I am done.

I'm glad you noticed the "lack of neo honk". You and I have spoken a lot and agreed that we both find honky mids troublesome. That was the first thing we addressed with the Uber line.

With some cabs, if I play my Ken Smith, I have to cut the high mids quite a bit....not with this cab.

Please try it underneath the Uber 4x10 at some point and let me know what you think.

Looks like a heck of a nice cab! I hope to try one of these sometime. While I love my 410's, I also dig many of the 212 executions, like the Eden212XLT, the Aguilar GS212 and most recently, the amazing TecAmp s212.

I bet this cab wumps! I assume it's the same sized box as the 410? That would be a mega stack right there.

I also agree that the more recent neo executions have a more even mid response, for better or worse, depending on your tone preference.

Nice job on that cab Genz guys!

oh I will try it when I get back to Wilmington. I think you dfinately will change the face of neo's with this one. The EQ'changes we talked about that made it to the Shuttle 12 MAx may not be needed for this cabinet. Remember we talked about being able to eq out the high honk of the neo's but still have another bit of mid eq? I think you solved the problem with this one. I even have to play with the high mids a bit on the Uber410. I this this one has it licked. I will know tonight under fire. Maybe I am wrong but this cabinet sounds like a compact 215

I must say after last night, the thought of an Uber210 under the Uber212 being run off a Shuttle 12Max is exciting. Now I wondering about a pair of Uber212's. You guys remember my 412 Eden rig... I think this will smoke it 7 ways to Sunday.

I will get much more in depth tomorrow aqfter I really run and I am feeling better. Last night that cabinet should have sucked just because I wasn't in the mood for anything. Today however I may even go to load in early to play with it.

I prefer that design also... like the TecAmp stuff... thin and tall. I assume they went this way for this cab so that it matched up with the 410 model. I assume there is also some economies of scale to be able to use what seems like the same box for both, with just a change of baffle board and I assume port tuning.

+2. I would have prefered GB redesign the vertical 2x12" to have more cu vol and upgraded speakers.

The handles on the top corner will be a problem lifting into high vehicles, unless it has side handles.

Man if GB could do that width cab with vertical alignment and the new 3012's coming out that would be huge IMHO.
