We're too small for economies of scale. I think I'm kidding. :eyebrow:

This actually came about because of Randy Jackson. When he was at our shop, we tried all sorts of cab configurations. What he ended up liking was our Neox-212T on its side, with our Uber 4x10 stacked on top of it.

He also wanted his rig to look "modern-retro" So, we custom built him a 4x10/2x12 cab in the format of an 8x10.

This also came about because people said they liked our Neox line but they wished it stacked with our 4x10"s. Other's, we know, like the column format of our NeoX, which sell very well. So, the Neox and the Uber series will both stay in the line.

With the intro of our Shuttle series, we sold twice as many cabs in six months as we did ALL the previous years...and most of these, were NeoX cabs. I think most of our Shuttle players will still use these cabs.

Man if GB could do that width cab with vertical alignment and the new 3012's coming out that would be huge IMHO.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by upgraded speakers. We design our own speakers for each cabinet design. You might be suprised where some of our speaker design elements have made it into some after market speakers that are available.

Hey Genz-Benz, nice new website, at least the "cover page"..
The Uber 212 looks very nice indeed.

Before the Ubers, before the Neox, before even the"Live" series, I used a 12T as an extension cab for my GK MicroBass and it was superb! I got into many fistfights, so to speak when I INSISTED that this cab with it's 12" driver and horn was voiced as nicely and was as toneful as "boutique" cabinets that cost much more.... Ha, in the end, I won irregardless, by having the cab!

Now- I'm a huge proponent of the 2x12 configuration- They blend the right amounts of high-mid-low freqs and project wonderfully. In addition, especially in a 4-ohm configuration, they match up superbly with the light-weight heads for a rig that is easy to load-in/out and kicks a** on stage.

Just added one to my arsenal, a Brand "M", with neo drivers, and broke it in myself last night. Wow. Fun.
I won't derail the GB theme- Your 212 will be a definite winner, and with the new 12.0....

Very often, we "let the market decide". Most items in our line, we have a clear idea of what we want to do to "steer" our line. Other things, like the Uber 2x12, we get because of demand.

So, if there is enough demand, sure. But, I don't have any plans, as the product mgr., of asking Jeff and Andy to build one.

Also note that many manufacturers do indeed build out many options in a product line that sit in the wings waiting to see if there's any real demand before tooling up for production.

I have an entire corner of the shop dedicated to great ideas in theory that weren't all that great of an idea in practice. ;)

Ok - thanks. One other thing - I don't see the 2x12 on the GB site yet, what does it weigh? I'll b @ NAMM next month to check it out.

OK, out if the gate it was impressive. This cabinet is not NEO at all as far as tone goes. I put it though versatile hell last night...Smith's fretted and fretless and Zeta EUB. On all accounts it was tight,punchy round and clear. The upper mids were tonaly perfect. The mid mids were dead on. Not having to eq iether of three basses made it easy. Flat was the ticket. The eq on all basses was enough to make them all shine. I don't think I would be going too far out on a limb to say if you like 12's of 15's for bass this is the box to have. I loved my Eden 212XLT, this is that with GB clearness of sound and reaction time. It is smooth fat and articulate. I think a pair of these 212 and a Shuttle 12 Max would be about all the ring you would ever need. can not wait to fire mine up up the 410 on as well. In short this is a real keeper for the way I play. Blues R & B rock...greaqt fat tone. Where "Old School" meets CLEAN

I am not sure of the weight...maybe 60 pounds. It seams way lighter than the 410. Tone wise it is almost thicker sounding.There is no neo high mid honk...(the 410 is pretty good but still has a little of it) The Uber212 I definately my new favorite for the tone I love they nailed it. It is almost like have my own model it is built so for me. I love the 410 but this 212 is the bomb for me. Not to knock the NEOx212 because it was my favorite cab but the Uber212 spanks hard and seams more even across the board than any cab out there. Nice job guys

Nice to hear all this! The first thing I thought of when the 410 was introduced was Uber 212! I love my NeoX 212 but I've missed my 212xlt many times for that pillowy response. Sounds like this would be a nice "crossover" between the two.

The hair-do looks good on you Dennis, as does the weight you've lost! You look great man! Glad to see you on stage with a big smile on your face! :D

I love the tone I get when laying my 212T cab on it's side, and stacking a 4x10 on top of it (I do this when we play larger venues where it makes sense)...but I would also like to have the stackability (form factor) to match up...There is definately an Uber 4x10 in my furure, and now a 2x12 as well..!!!!

OK I need to sell some cabs asap...lol...

I'm glad you like it Dennis. I DO have to add that I still like the 4x10 better as a stand-alone vs. the 2x12 so....:spit:
